Thanks! The main reason I can't do slam balls is because I workout early in the morning. My wife might come into the room and hit me over the head of I did that ;)
I know this video is old, but I have to tell you thank you very much because I wanted to get into working out now that I'm 16 and trying to pursue a career in baseball, and even though I have adjustable dumbbells I wanted to up my workouts more and motivate myself to do better (fun fact I plan on buying this stuff tonight probably) so while I work on my stamina I'll now try to work on my muscle building, from a 16 year old thank you very much 👍.
I still have most of this stuff today! The bands I use now are the UnderSun ones and a resistance bands bar, but I still have everything else as shown in the thumbnail. I played baseball in college and I highly recommend focusing on building muscle, but make sure you then learn the proper technique and movement patterns as you gain the muscle so that it doesn't affect baseball as you get bigger/stronger. Don't go crazy and put on 10+ lbs of muscle without also practicing your baseball skills as your body has changed and it will be tough to get your body to catch up to your new size. Just a tip as this happened to me. I still got the starting position throughout all 4 years, but I could feel a noticeable difference requiring a bit more practice to catch back up :)
Nice video! I've been building up a mini home gym since the lockdown and I have a version of everything you've mentioned except for the dip bars. Your videos have been very helpful in prioritizing equipment on a limited budget. I've always been paranoid about the pullup bar falling, so what I did is on the upper door frame, I drilled in a couple screws sticking up and out vertically just underneath where the horizontal bar sits so that it can't just slip off the edge of the frame accidentally. Therefore, in order to remove the pullup bar, you have to lift the horizontal bar up over the top of the screws, which is practically impossible to happen accidentally even if you're doing crazy kipping movements. It's mainly for my peace of mind, as I don't think it's ever actually come close to falling while I use it. But, just mentioning it in case other people avoid using this kind of pullup bar due to the same fears. Also, one piece of equipment you might be interested in trying are TRX straps. I use them to do a lot of the things you did with the dip bars, but they also have the added bonus of being more adjustable, compact, and activate more stabilizing muscles. I attach mine to the pullup bar (another reason I wanted to make my pullup bar less fallable) and it's been a lot of fun learning the rings-type calisthenic exercises with them.
Nice! I like the idea for stabilizing the pull-up bar. I rent a house so I cant drill into doorframes and walls that way, but once I buy a house I may do that. I've been looking at TRX as well. I think they are great (or rings) but I just don't have a place I can install them in my home gym that works well. But if I do in the future I'll be sure to get some.
@@GamerBody Oh yeah, I totally understand about not wanting to damage the door frames if you're renting! You seem to have a nice place, so it would be extra noticeable too haha
Just spent about 200 CAD on home workout equipment I don’t want to get huge just in a nice toned shape I want to build muscle with calisthenics purchased a pull up bar, ab wheel, whatafit resistance bands, and Parallel bars
Nice, that should be all you need. If you decide to add more resistance I use a backpack and the plates from my Core Fitness Dumbbells. Works great so far :)
@@evilballer it is really hard to get huge and takes YEARS of dedication to do it. A vast majority will fail and it may even require additional assistance from other drugs to get those results. Not to mention great genetics.
@@GamerBody ohhh that's what it was. I was wanting to purchase one until I saw people constantly eating it 😂 I will now I have one in my Amazon cart that's a decent price, thank you 😁
I'm using the Crossgrips by Jayflex right now and they are my personal favorites. Expensive but no more side doorframe damage as it only rests on the top. Feel free to check out my unboxing and my review is coming out for the Friday.
I would consider 2 or 3 kettlebells instead of dumbbells... I have both but find the unbalanced weight of the kettlebells provide better benefit. A light, medium (2x light) and heavy for farmers carry. If wanting to be down cheap initially consider a 5 gallon bucket that you add water to.. water at 8 lbs per gallon would allow from 4 lbs (.5 gal) to 40 lbs (5 gal) with unbalancing effect to work the core muscles including the carry.
Nope. I would not recommend this as it takes up too much space for my closet. I'm also not a fan of water jugs at all. It requires a lot more work to weigh them out and the small handle is annoying to hold. Unbalancing is fine when needed (if you struggle with that in your training) but the standard lifts progressed with weights will be enough to get the average person great results and even build a great core. Most people won't learn how to use kettlebells correctly (including myself) and dumbbells are more intuitive to pickup and use. Kettlebells have their place, but not in my setup.
Both use gravity the same way. You can load a barbell more though, but in some exercises it can reduce your range of motion so it really depends what you are trying to achieve and how heavy you need to go.
It will depend on your genetics, but yes, if use appropriately (providing a strong enough stimulus to tell the body to build muscle) you will build muscle. Don't forget nutrition and recovery area large part of the process since you build muscle during rest.
@@awembaweawembawe6116 a couple older ones. Personally, my diet isn't that great, but I stick to trying to get more protein (around 120-180 grams per day) and then fill in the rest of calories. I sometimes track them, but not often unless I feel like Im going way off.
I'd get rid of the ankle weights, chairs and instability ball. Use a bench if you need something to sit/lay on as it is built for that and a dip bar station is also much safer than chairs. TRX is a hit/miss for me as I think they can work, but I have no place to set them up in my office.
I like this channel. Too many fitness channels focus on big equipment. I don’t got space for most of that stuff let alone money.
Yeah I don't need to build a massive gym in my home or apartment. Just the basics that get good results :)
Dude you deserve more subs, great content. Keep it up! I'd be happy if you tried slam balls and make a video about them in the future.

Great video I’m looking into buying adjustable dumbbells right now but they are all pretty expensive
Yeah it is definitely the hard item to come by right now. Hopefully they start returning and are not insanely overpriced.
When you mentioned people falling from the pull up bar I literally bursted out laughing 🤣
I keep seeing ads of people doing it backwards and falling...um nobody uses it that way.

I have the same dumbbells, they are awesome.
Agreed. I keep hearing of an 80lbs version coming out, but not sure when. I am also looking at the Nuobells which are very similar and go to 80lbs.
Do you have any routine for those?
take a look at gamerbody.com for my current updated program you can do with this equipment and some updates since.
