  • In this video, Anna Steele-Finkelstein, Physiotherapist, is demonstrating the exercises that she used to rehabilitate her knee after a 80% torn PCL (Posterior Cruciate Ligament) Injury and a LCL (Lateral Collateral Ligament) injury.
These exercises are a very crucial and important part of PCL and LCL knee rehabilitation and its success without surgery. By doing them in stages, you should be able to safely and gradually build up knee strength and, in time, restore the full function of the injured knee.
The exercises work on building the strength in the muscles surrounding the knee, which helps to support the joint and the ligaments. They help you to get more stability into the joint, reduce the pain and the swelling and bring you back to function, step by step. If you have an injured knee and specifically a ruptured or torn ligament, these exercises will help with the repair of the damaged ligament and strengthen the knee joint.

Don't worry Anju, I'm nearly 6 months down the line and still can't fully bend my knee. I'm pre-op but the trauma was so intense it's meant a slower recovery

I have had a complete tear to the PCL and almost completely tore the MCL on the left knee. And on the right one I have a torn ACL. Skiing also, I had a collision.
I’m still waiting for my CTI braces to come. It’s been 4 weeks since the injury. I have the stabilizer that the mountain clinic gave me.
The surgeon wants me to do 6 weeks of physical therapy I saw him last week. We will reassess the injuries after 6 weeks. I’m visualizing the ligaments connecting back together. I really don’t want surgery.
I’ve been doing the week 0-2 for the last few weeks now. Will do more when I get the actual CTI braces.
I would love to hear how you are getting along.
