"The Steam-Electric Arrives!" is a 1938 promotional film made by General Electric to promote their new experimental Steam-Electric turbine locomotive made in collaboration with the Union Pacific Railroad.
Only two units were built, and the project was ultimately deemed a failure due to high operating costs and maintenance resulting in the units being pulled from service and scrapped.
