I’ve been so busy lately with university lately that finding the time to go for a ride is often difficult. Luckily in the 15 minutes I have in between classes I get to put my headphones on and escape by watching you. Thanks Schaaf!
I rode a cb750 hornet for an obligatory riders course here in Sweden and was positively surprised by how good it sounded for a stock exhaust! (even made it pop once lol) with my limited experience riding (regularly practice with a cb650) it felt pretty tourqey and handled very smoothly. I hope they make more bikes with this engine!
Whats the main difference you feel with a cb650r?? I got the cb650r because of looks and sound, im addicted to it, but Hornet seems better on paper and comfort.
Hello there. Thanks for including slow (also known as "legal") speed test and comments. It's cool to know that a bike is a blast to thrash around on nice free mountain roads, but what is that worth if it's unbearable the other 85% of the time when the road conditions require you to ride "slow". It's sad to say, but these days I have two criteria to choose a bike : that it is fun in the twisties (which is why I ride) and that it behaves in town at 30-50 kph (which is what I have to do a lot before reaching said twisties). Not obvious to fulfil these days with injection, poor fuel and severe emission restrictions. Anyway, as usual thanks for the great quality video and comments!
Just bought mine a few days ago and man is it fun to wind out the engine. Theres a lovely induction noise accelrating through 3rd and 4th gear as you start to get on the throttle.
Really appreciate your demonstration of the low rev, small throttle opening fuelling in the commuting section. You can hear that it's not too bad. Great review as usual. BTW, the Metzeler Karoo, also oem are much better than the Dunlops, still street orientated but good.
When I started riding, ot was on a CBF 125 and afterwards I switched to the Transalp XL 650. I loved the bike for it's comfort and reliability but it was too tall and heavy for me so I sold it again. Some years later I bought a CBR 250r with some technical issues very cheap which I repaired and the funny thing is I feel much better on the CBR 250r and ride it for many years now. It is so easy to ride... just like the CBF 125. The thing is the new transalp, especially in this colour, looks really awesome. Maybe I try one by the time you get them used (at about 100.000km the prices start to get interresting).
I agree! It's a solid Honda, nothing scary to her but nothing inspiring either. Yet, this will do just fine for a lot of ppl. I'm just not one of them since it lacks the sportiness I prefer.
That Trans need 3 things, front and rear suspension upgrades and without a doubt a much shorter gear ratio, like a 2 tooth bigger sprocket rear sprocket and the front one reduced 1 tooth in the size. It will be a proper character for this bike. Cheers.
Schaaf: Would you think the Transalp is comparable to the NC750X, but more comfortable, more power and a little offroad capable? I think those two have the same "don´t annoy the rider" character. Nice video and sound - as always! ;)
Yes, character wise I'd say they are not that far from each other. But the Transalp has that top end power which can be a lot of fun. Unfortunately the NC can't offer that
Great ride and a nice ADV machine. Rode it. Just have to upload the video these days. The suspension is a bit too soft... otherwise a great do it all machine in my opinion.

Nothing to compare. Suzuki is a better off-road bike, better suspension, more torque at lower revs. Now Suzuki dropped a road version of 800. With smaller wheels, which will be even easier to ride.
Hi schaaf. Thanks for you videos. I like to much how you ride. A mix between agresive and speedy and also security. I have a question. Where you have you camera. In you torax or on you helmet? Thanks a lot, from spain!
Hi Schaaf, you mentioned in the comment that you will choose Suzuki vstorm 800 over Transalp750. Can you let me the top reason for that considering that it's 20kg lighter than Suzuki
It seems like in a lot of your videos you lean your bike very low, but not really lean with your body. Is there a reason for this? Leaning further often means higher risk, but its also obvious that you know exactly what you're doing. Genuine question coming from a beginner rider.
keeping your body neutral gives you a better point of view (your head is higher compared to hangoff) and you're slightly faster to react when having to adjust your riding line unexpectedly. Since the lean angles I'm riding are nowhere close to the actual limit of the bike there's no need to reduce them.
From the looks of it you seem to handle this better than the Vstrom800 DE in the twisties. Do you agree with that and which motorcycle handles better on paved road between Vstrom800 and Transalp?
Good stuff, thank you! Help me out, pls! I own a Tiger 800xc, of which you have a fantastic video uploaded. Which one would you prefer, in terms of character and performance? Worth selling the Tiger for the new Transalp? Thanks

The Tenere has much more capable suspension and I'd be faster with it, even on the road. But the Transalp offers more comfort and better wind protection. Since you mostly commute I'd take the Honda.
@@peterng779 that's not what I meant. lol it is more focused offroad than onroad compared to the transalp. saying that *tenere = offroad* it means it is more capable in that department. *transalp = road* because if is more comfortable
