I8've had the Huggin for a good year or so, and I've enjoyed it quite a bit. Never really been a karambit fan, but I do recognize that they have their place. Loving the fixed blades though!!
Super review! Thank you for being upfront and frank about knives as a self defense tool. So many reviewers tap dance around the issue, as if it’s a sugar coated world. Also glad to see you feature some flashlights! What knife freak doesn’t need a high tech flashlight?
Neeveeee I just picked up a Swiss tech Wording pocket knife. It’s a Walmart brand but it’s as nice as my Civivis. Ceramic ball bearing G-10 razor sharp. Did I mention it’s $30? And I got mine on sale for $25. Soooo worth it. Their whole new line of knives is worth checking out!
The Rovyvon lights are pretty cool and affordable just prefer lights with a changeable battery. The Kubey looks like a great EDC and the Isham knife is definatly unique. Not a fan of knives with rings just personal preference. Thanks for the look see and keep making sharp things fun and enjoyable
I have a few TKells and they're awesome. Great knives although the sheaths are kind of janky. I have older ones and I need to send them back. Hopefully he's got them figured out now.
Rovyvon: fantastic little light that I've been carrying in four or five forms over the past several years. I prefer the clear side versions because you have so many auxiliary lighting options to go along with the main beam. I feel that is the value of the Rovyvon. Yes the stainless and titanium versions look slick but lack the full functionality of the clear sighted ones and if you haven't checked those out you really need to. 👊🔦👍
Good vid bro, bunch of cool knives and good descriptions. Would like to see long term review of the lionsteel. I would def own that already if it was legal in my state.
Finally, a genuine "reverse tanto". Why? it has a secondary tip and edge. Without those it would be a K tip, or Kiritsuke. Thanks for pointing out how rare a "reverse tanto" actually is.
I'm very seldom impressed by flashlights mainly cause they want way to much for em but the little Ravy von I think you called is is nice. Of course I'd probably fall out when I saw the price for it too but it is sharp
No Strop and the exact same angle, when freehanding it sometimes helps to drop the angle slightly because of pressure. So try not to apply much pressure and maintain the angle
Regarding the Lionsteel Karambit, I feel the reason why this Karambit feels better in the tip up edge forward position is due to the size. I'm surprised that with this being an Emerson design who is quite proficient in Karambit use, then he went with this size that is frankly too large for traditional point down edge forward holds. I've handled dozens of karambits over the years and there are a number of designs where they simply scaled it up too much. At any rate it's well made from premium materials and coming in at a good price point! Thanks for the review! 🗡️👊👍
Could you do a video on the most comfortable folding knives? Specifically for long/extended cutting, like breaking down 20+ boxes or carving/shaving wood. All of my folding knives have really flat sides and really dig into my hands after 10+ minutes of use.
The UK seller Heinnie sells a lovely knife called the Fox Browning, Italian made blade with maybe the most natural shape I've ever held, I've got big bass player hands and it just fits like a glove. Perfect for taking the bark off some branches or whittling a little model. Very traditional walnut scale too, all the gunmetal tacticool and effervescent stuff never interested me really
Got that Sitivien St-121 instead of the Sencut Actium. Really nice knife especially for the sale price of 24.00 but I have 2 issues. One there is no jipping on the flipper tab(put some on myself) and the lock bar only fully engages when you flip it hard. That's something I would like you to add to your already awesome reviews is how much the lock bar engages on lite flips. Maybe even tap the blade on something a couple times to see it it holds. Just a thought. I alway give you a like because I appreciate your reviews, thanks.
I've been looking at that last self defense Civivi, I must admit it is pretty wicked . It deff has an intimidating appearance. Tho I know it wouldn't be a great edc but It still intrigues me .
@@NeevesKnives i thought the same thing when I first seen it , I'd probably eventually customize the handles to be thicker/ more palm filling. I just don't know with what yet 🤔
It's good to hear the detent on the Lionsteel. I've been a big fan of Lionsteel's fixed blades, but the few folders I tried had detents that I just found too hard/high. I just ordered the Lionsteel H1 with the karambit handle, but a modified sheep's foot blade, I'm looking forward to it. I sharpened an M1 for someone s couple weeks ago, they had just bought it and wanted the factory edge redone. The M390 felt noticeably harder than the M4 I bought years ago. The M4 was by no means soft, but it isn't as hard as the new M1. I'm hoping the H1 is similar. I had bought a Viper Berus 1 and returned it the next day. The handle scales were th wrong color, which I could have lived with; what I couldn't deal with was the uneven grind. At first I thought it was just the bevel, which is pretty common (though shouldn't be on a $150+knife). It was only on closer inspection that I realized it was the whole grind; the apex was every so slightly to the right. I wouldn't have kept it anyway but to fix it would have required removing about 8-9 full resharpenings of steel, or laid the entire down to even it out. I sent it back, a week later the replacement showed…which was the exact same knife I returned: not the same model, the same knife. They sent another replacement which again was the wrong color and had the same uneven grind. I'm pretty sure these were factory seconds that they weren't listing as such, since when I looked at the box I realized that while they sent the green handled instead of the black like I ordered, the box was indeed listed as a black one. Just something to remember when you see a knife being sold for $20-30 less than everywhere else, and ESPECIALLY when it's less than the other ones that seller have.
@@NeevesKnives yup. At the end of the day, they sent are making it right and are eating the $30+ difference, but it's literally a 5-6 week ordeal since the first order, and the manufacturer wasn't the one that gave me back the knife that I shipped back. Funny thing is that two days before it showed I told my friend "watch them send me back the knife I returned." He said "nooo, they're not going to do that..." I don't know why I thought that, it never happened to me before; it wasn't even something I ever considered. He was there when I opened it, he thought I was kidding when I said it (who wouldn't?), then I showed him the packaging I ripped a little when I repacked it to ship back. 🙄
@arrowheadguys7637 yeah I had some back then to, then didn't wear any until about 6 months ago I grabbed a pair and loved them, I was looking for usa made pants and settled with Mexico, I'm testing out a couple other brands as well, but at the moment the TH are my favorites
Hi Jared, Hearing that you used a knive as a throwing knive (naughty !) I wondered if you'd consider doing a vid on your favourite throwing knives ? Best wishes to the both of you !
I used to have a bunch of throwing knives, and I used take regular fixed blades and used as throwers, just so that I could get used to throwing different knives, but it's been a while maybe I should grab a good set
HELPPPP, man I'm trying to get into the Venev Dragon series you recommend but I can't find them anywhere except for one grit from gritomatics website. pleeease tell me you can point me somewhere that has them in stock???
I highly recommend the Canku 1140c worth every penny at $25 Buy with a Ulticlip 3.3 Slim $15 Do NOT buy the “Silver” one, they don’t grind the edges correctly on them. The “Black”and “Green” ones are excellent but do to the lack of contrast in edge to blade color on the silver ones they have been ground incorrectly on each one I’ve gotten.
TKell makes some great knives but calling a self defense knife the night stalker is a little tone deaf. And those double edged blades really dwindle the amount of people who can legally own and carry them.

Do a video on how to sharpen something curved like that

I have the HapstoneR2
I want to strop using it. If my knife angle is 19 degrees should I strop at 17.5 degrees ?
