This movie felt like a love letter to anyone who has ever played a sport. While it was a faster pace than the anime, with some cut content, what we got in return is the most realistic animated sports media currently in existence.
@@starvein8841 the problem is not in animation. For example, the one of unrealistic moments in the show is hinata. There's no 164 cm 16 y/o human in the world with his vertical
Manga reader here. I'm not spoiling anything so don't worry. Anime onlys NEED to read the Nekoma match. This match is as long as the Shiratorizawa and Inarizaki match, which were adapted into ~ 10 episodes each. Instead we got a 1.5 hour movie (~ 4 episodes) for this match. You can definitely imagine how many great moments were left out. The chapter where the Nekoma match ended was 325. Haikyuu has 402 chapters. It's IMPOSSIBLE to fit everything in the last movie. The desicion was questionable and it frustrated the fans so much. We don't actually have high hopes. It WILL NOT do any justice to the manga. EVER. Long story short: Just read the manga.
@@ArtyLX Yeah, few points but the stories behind them. There were long ass dialogues and insights. It's so much deeper. There were some moments included in the movie but not as impactful. For example the whole time Yamaguchi was on the court and the high five with Tsukishima. It could've been half of an episode but we got like 2 minutes here? It went by so fast and we hardly got any feels.
43:26 Not a spoiler but Karasuno cant play against Fukurodani in SemiFinal in this tournament since Fukurodani was in other blocks along with Itachiyama😁
32:35 This might be my favourite rally that's been animated so far, the new song is such a banger, the animation is absolutely insane, the flashbacks are so emotionally resonant and the voice acting is absolutely amazing especially kuro's laugh. I must have watched 20 times over and i still get full body chills every time. Haikyuu is so awesome, it makes me feel like i could run through a brick wall from the hype. 😭😭
I have been waiting a long time for this to be released online. And it delivered. Haikyuu is so good there isn't much to say. You will love it even if you are not into volleyball or even sports. I loved a lot about this movie, personal favourite was that uncut kenma POV as he was looking at the ball bouncing around the court. Now I wait for the finale. If its a movie atleast next time I will make sure to watch it in theatre. I missed dumpster battle in theatre.
I love what you were able to pick up from the movie! There was definitely cut content, but they were still able to make the narrative feel cohesive, and the themes of this match specifically really embody what Haikyuu is all about imo - the love of sport and inclusion/community. I think the next film should be just as grand as this one if they divide things the way I believe they might. With so little information out there it’s hard to say if there’s potential for even more animated Haikyuu in the future beyond these movies, but I wouldn’t rule it out completely considering how fans are clearly still really invested in this story
That long feint is the same trick that got used against Karasuno by Tsubakihara. Hinata was intently watching the play and I think Sugi comments that he can tell Hinata's mentally inputting that data.
Well, about the later movie, it's a long story.(sry, this comment will be very long) Haikyuu official initially said that it'd end with two movies. But later, they deleted that post. Then, the announcement of The Dumpster Battle came out. In the post of The Dumpster Battle, they changed from “Haikyuu Final Two, Part One” to “The first movie of the final series”. By the way, The Dumpster Battle did great at the box office. So, people are guessing there might be more than one movie left. Now, the only thing we know for sure is that the production company of Haikyuu anime promised to animate the rest of the manga's story. But they didn't say if it's gonna be on TV or in movies, or how many movies there'll be. As a manga reader, I can tell you that the rest of the manga story can't fit into just one movie. Otherwise, a lot of cool stuff will be left out. So, I hope the official will make more movies or a TV series.😭 I really love the rest of the manga story.😭 It's my favorite
After we wrapped up with the anime.. I genuinely recommend you read the manga later *NOT SPOILER.. as great this movie as it is.. the manga material is sooo much better in so many ways. They cut so many great panels and storylines in the match (unfortunately), so please check it out later.
This came out at a funny time because Tsukki and Kuroo have the same VA as Rin and Shidou I'm gonna be as vague as possible to not spoil the outcome of the next movie so don't read into it so much or don't read it all, the next movie ending is not gonna be the last page of the manga, it is impossible to fit in the other matches in the next movie
thanks for your reaction!! tbh I still don't know how they’re going to fit everything into that last movie... unless it's over 2.5 hours long which seems impossible.

@@starvein8841 it's not the most realistic. For example, run with the wind is way more realistic. Haikyuu has some problems with it.
@sike3180 running in a straight line is much easier to animate

That first person rally might be the most insane continuous shot I've ever seen in a sports series.

@@cjajabkshcjsa I agree-while it was a great experience, especially in theaters, I feel this match could have and should have been more
Not smch. They actually missed 4-5 points like nishinoya save and coaches story about competing
