Thanks for making this video, I wasn’t sure if my low side pressure was a little bit too low but with your help I was able to figure things out. Thanks
Nice very informative Great presentation Good job very informative I like the information. Very helpful thank you for taking the time to create this content
Just replaced the compressor & expansion valve on my f150. Put 3 oz of oil & 24 oz of freon per the tag under the hood. The high side goes to 300, the fan comes on the pressure drops fast to 200 then starts climbing back to 300 cycles over and over.. The ambient temperature 78 the vent temperature is 39. Would my dryer in the condenser be bad or the condenser messed up? What say you?
Thanks for the video. My high side is low, but my low side is *normal*. Any suggestions? (85 degrees F, 60% humidity, high is 160 psi, low is 47 psi, 2011 Altima)
Hi, Thanks for your perfect explanation Can you please advise why When I switch on AC the compressor will click three to four times before back to normal
I'm charging an ac in a hyundai accent using r134a. I changed the expansion valve and still have pressures that are way off. 50 on the low side and 50 on the high side. It is also no longer taking freon even though the ac pump running continuously. Its about 60 degrees outside. What should I look at next?
Hi Robin, how about when your low pressure is functioning fine but your high pressure stays with the ambient temperature when your compressor engages ?
Mr. Robin. Are you rely on the reading of the sathatical pressure for each measure to see the level of cooling fluid? And what values are required for that
It is best to connect the guages with the car shut off, both sides should be equal and should be around the pressure indicated on the chart for whatever temerature your surroundings are at the time. In most cases you would not access this unless your machine is not cooling and your static pressure lower than expected on both sides because there is a leak somewhere in the system that needs to be located and repaired before rechargingbthe system
My Low is 30 and my high is 200 and no problem it is 40 degrees inside the car until I will go up the hill in a 95 degrees weather the a/c quits and the temp needle goes up to almost red zone engine temp.. but after turning it off for 2 minutes it will start cooling again again and the engine temp goes back to normal. What is the problem? I replaced the condenser and dryer/filter,I vacuumed and charged,Still doing the same thing,It still quit and overheat,2 minutes off and it will go back to normal again.Should I change the compressor?please Help,Thank you.
ive been trying w the car ac i got it filled said my condenser was clogged changed it got it refilled still blowing hot before itd start run cold for 15 mins then go hot but i just got home when hooked up the gauge and low side was chilling at 150+ i turned the ac on it instantly went to 0 any thoughts? they said possibly the evaporator idk
Why the a c temp. Is not maintained, suction pressure is 40psi and discharge pressure is 130psi, amps is 16, gas is R134A. What is the problem ,can u suggest ????
Thank you! On my gauge my HP needle is fluttering. What would cause that? Is it a leak? Faulty reed valve in the compressor? Blockage? If so, can I diagnose this failure on this fluttering on the gauges alone?
Good information but does not help out so many of us who need to decrease the pressure so we can have the ac working properly. It seems everyone explains the system well but nobody yet has given a solution to an overcharged situation. Why do so many tip toe about that?
2002 s10 v6 ac issue My static pressure Guage test with engine off and or the ac off either way is 90 Lbs on low side and 100 Lbs hi side . When I start engine with ac on the high side climbs to 400lbs immediately the low side drops to 30lbs or so and the clutch shuts off What's My problem seems it holding a charge but hi side build is clicking the compressor off and the accumulator is NOT Cold or sweating. I changed this Florida trucks ac when I got it with 134 and one of them ambient temp gouges that put you in the green zone. But after a week stuff got weird. It does blow cold sometimes why driving but now it's acting odd . I'm about about buy new accumulator and orifice and new line seals and evacuate and redo it all. What could be the issue here ??
What if the High side never builds pressure? Already changed the compressor. Still only getting 40 PSI on both sides and it’s not taking refrigerant from the can.
I have a yellow jacket manifold with knob on the side. So its clockwise to close and counter clockwise to open. For some reason when i open the low pressure side, refrigerant are not being added. Any ideas?
I replaced my condenser and dryer and vacuumed my system then added refridgerant and now my high sides fluctuation from about 250 to 200 but it only goes down when my fans kick on what could cause that?
We use psi over here instead of bar. It kinda sucks.....I'm as American and I prefer using the metric system, but I usually can't Because hardly anyone I work with speaks or thinks in metric units. It's crazy, we need to move on with the times over here and adopt the better ,easier, system of measurement. ... every nut and bolt and torx etc etc fastener on every vehicle sold in America for the last 20 yrs have used METRIC fasteners....but SOOOO many ppl still use fractional /imperial/sae tools. Despite them being slightly larger or smaller than the fastener. They Just CANNOT seem to give up on that fractional crap. I'm metric gang all the way though. Lol
Sae is so stupid, it's harder to learn in the first place, confusing .... it's just garbage. Everything being divisible by 10 is so much easier. Fuck a 9/16" Socket or a 9/32"socket and a goddamn 5/8" wrench lol Long live the 10mm !! Hats off to the 8mm and the 12 mm respectively. Lol and big shout out to my t25 and my t27 fasteners I ain't forget about yall, that's my jam. Hehe Shout out kilopascal and bar also..I don't fuck wit yall as much but I got love for ya lol Big ups to liters, fuck cubic inches dem ones bitch made. ..metric gang bang! bang! I went from civil to full goon to fast, didn't realize how bad I hate sae until I started ranting about it, a clear line has been drawn in the sand for me from this day forward. Metric gang whose wimme!??!
Adu, these are extremely high pressures generated by the system. A static pressure check would tell you something more about the charge. If withing normal readings i.e. 2-4 bars equally on both sides your system may suffer from some severe blockages or the ac compressor steering problems.
I have a 99 Silverado 1500 four-wheel-drive my AC is not blowing cold it’s only blowing about 70° low pressure gauge is just under 40 the high pressure gauge is just under 250 I don’t understand it seems the gauges are in where they’re supposed to be but I can’t figure out why it’s not blowing cold if you could help me I would appreciate it
What does it mean when the temperature outside is 95 degrees Fahrenheit and the low side is 80 psi and the high side is 120 psi what does that mean it could be?
What if my car is on idle and blows warm air, but gets pretty cold when my car is running...the low side is a little high than 30psi and declines when I accelerate...the high side pressure gauge stays normal, what can it be please help...thanx
Hey Edilfred. Start with checking the refrigerant level is correct. Checking the static pressures would be a good idea. If below 30 psi your system is undercharged. And if you're sure the system is charged properly, these readings you've got may indicate several issues. It all depends on the system layout, compressor design etc. 35 psi on the LP is definatelly too high reading and IMO relates to some compressor's suction problems. This may have a root cause in the compressor steering valves (if applicable, e.g. ECV, MCV) or in the expansion valve, if your system has one. If this is a scroll design compressor it might be the seals between the scrolls. And the HP reading with 90 PSI is too low too. A stuck open TXV may result in this, but then you would typically hear some excessive noise from the compressor. Let me know the vehicle model so we can find a more accurate diagnose of this reading.

I need help, please. My car get warm air temps during stops or idle, Pressure are good, fan running properly and replaced, Compressor, H block, Condenser/recieved dryer, and Evaporator, I am so stumped replaced all those items to try to fix the warmer vent temps at a stop or idle and still have the same problem, what could I be doing wrong, I always have the shop evac and recharge professionally, no leaks, no dye in the system. But is does take over 1 hour to equalize pressures at 90* Arizona ambient temp. Please advise if you can, thank you.
Your problem is most likely a malfunctioning condenser fan. This would explain why the AC doesn't work well while the car's stationary- there's simply not enough air blowing over the condenser to let it do its job. When your car is moving, enough air blows over the condenser (even with the fan not working) and your AC blows cold. Another far less likely problem may be the blend door malfunctioning. Your AC may be doing its work, but the cold air may be getting mixed with the hot air. Looks like you've eliminated any other likely causes.
