I've had Arai, Shoei and Schubert and now I have the Nexx Vilijord (flip up) and it's as good as those brands, comfortable, quiet and a perfect fit for me. Certainly recommend Nexx if you are looking for a change from the usual brands.
I couldn't find a stockist of Nexx anywhere within 250 miles of me. As i have an odd shaped head i needed to try one on first. I ended up with an LS2 explorer 2, very good lid just a bit noisy without earplugs.
I really like all the features of the helmet but just like most, I can't find my size in most helmets. HJC has been my go to for almost 35 years now since they are one of the very few that carry a larger size for us big heads 😆
The X. WED 3 has interested me since it came out. Man, it's feature packed. How is the peak at freeway speeds? My Arai XD4 is great but I had a Scorpion modular with the peak and that one had terrible harmonic vibrations. Have a Happy New Year Curtis!
Another great vid. I just committed to a Shoei Hornet as I found one for $820 in a Boxing Day special. I had seen the Nexx and the same time. Be good to hear an opinion between the two. Hope I did the right thing 😬
Nice Helmet. Only big turn off is I cannot easily add my Sena units. Sometimes like like carrying a charged backup so it has to be easy to swap out. Or swap my Sena to different helmets depending on my ride. I steer clear of proprietary com systems from helmet companies. Otherwise great helmet because I appreciate drop down sun visors and go pro mounts.
Ya convinced me Curtis, I'm gonna test one out. Fingers crossed it fits good. I'm 22.75" round or 57.785cm. I really struggle with finding a good size since I'm right in the middle of a Medium and Large. I'm hoping this fits good at a medium size. The camera mount will really come in handy for me. I've been currently using a HJC DS-x1 and it really hurts my jaw after a long ride, plus it's so freaking loud. I don't think anything can be louder.
Yikes, sore jaw? It's always tricky being between sizes, I've had it in the past. They've got a free return policy for sizing (in Aus) so they could be worth a go
I bought one Carbon fibre having had Aria XD4 for a few years got the coms system for it set up About, $1600 all up unfortunately I just wasn't happy with it ended up going to a 6D atr-3 just as I always run goggles anyway. Helmets are hard I recon can't chuck one on at the shop and go for a spin to try it.
I had that helmet for a year and over 20.000 km all over Europe - from Spain to Scottland. The build quality for that price is wierd. some parts are really well made and others are straight up garbage. The Built in camera mount is messed up from the factory and they told me - and several others according to forums and youtube comments - to send it in since its a warrenty problem. The Screw wont fit since the thread is glued in at a bad angle. Estimated wait time is roughly two months so i just use my external mount for now and keep the helmet. Besides that its quite noisy compared to the more premium helmet like the klim krios. Im not really sure i would recommend it until Nexx irons out the problems.
Does it fit like an Arai ? I've been wearing Arai helmets for so long most other helmets feel inferior.... I'm actually interested in one of these Nexx Lids... Or maybe the new 2025 Leatt 8.5...so much good gear now..
Do you know if they're stocked anywhere in Brisbane Curtis? I've got a giant head, so need to try anything before buying. I'm in the market as my HJC just doesn't fit quite right
@@tbillington jump on the Nexx helmet mate and have a look. My mate has a big head and had trouble till he got the Nexx. They have a size return policy from memory too if you wanted to just get one online
Is this an ad? We're you given the helmet for free? Charlie B was given a tour and of how they make this helmet and they gave him a custom one as a partnership. I've seen a few people market this helmet from Portugal. I'm curious if your being part of that or if this is your own find.
No ad mate, I like it. The only things I can fault are it's a little bit loud and the bit I mentioned about it sitting low over time. Must be slightly big
@onthebackwheel what can I say man there are few people who I respect on the internet you A Rieman and Charlie are on that list. I appreciate the video I think I'll grab one and try it instead of spending the extra cash on a Shoei
@CaptLawrence legend. I'll have to check out more of his stuff, I only know him from the old long way round. I don't get any kick backs or anything, just a solid helmet. Without the pinlock and chin deflector in I did get bad fogging. Chin deflector out/pinlock in and deflector out it's been great, but I'm up in Qld now and that was NSW with the fogging

That's a pain. There is still a bit of noise on this without ear plugs

Hard to go wrong with a Shoei

Good point with the Sena. I'm sure you can mount one, but it'd be nice to use the supplied mount etc

@@onthebackwheel I ordered one from the US distributor, they had the white one $100 off. I'll give it a try.

That sucks mate. I had something similar but with a much cheaper helmet. Was bloody awful
That green version is a sharp colored helmet
I think so too
Hi Curtis, where did you get yours at $700? I love the look of this thing but can only find the carbon one in Brisbane.
On the Nexx Australia website. I believe the carbon is on sale there for 750ish too

How are these for glasses? Is the visor optically correct?
That I honestly don'tt know and you'd have to look at the website. I can get my wife to try it, she wears contacts and glasses
From one wearer to another, they`re perfectly fine with glasses. Had an x-wed 3 next to my Neotec 2.
