- Inspired by one of the best sneaker commercials ever created, this new colorway of the Vertical brings some gum sole and a lot of colors!
The wait is over and after 30 years we finally are witnessing one of the most iconic models form the Above The Rim line return in all of its glory! The Vertical l was a magnificent basketball performer back in the 1992-93 time frame, almost all players in the NBA that were under Reebok contract were rocking those on court, also a lot of collage basketball teams and even in the movie Blue Chips. I am super happy to add those to the collection and so excited to see Above The Rim branding back!!!

:) Ohh you're a big fan of the gum rubber that's interesting. Have you ever heard of crape (crepe)? Probably most famously used as the sole in desert boots. It's basically the same colour as that gum rubber. As far as I can tell this is no functional difference between the gum rubbers and the other rubbers they typically use for our souls. My assumption is that they're simply coloured they're typical rubber resins to match crape, IMO essentially it's a psychological trick to make you think that colour has more grip than it probably does.
