Thanks for doing this video! I just got my IEMs back from being repaired. I was seating them in my ear by putting pressure at the connection point where the the cable and IEM meet. Eventually this cracked the IEM shell! After that $350 repair I will definitely be working on my muscle memory with your technique.

$350 repair? Dude they’re stealing from you. Go buy some Alclair’s the most expensive repair price they have is about $90.

@@nathandrums0 tell me about it! They convinced me to upgrade the connectors to a new waterproof type, but I think just the repair would have been $200! Luckily, they were running a half off deal on the upgrade. Still... $175 plus shipping. Ridiculous

Totally ridiculous, mildly cracked shells can be fixed easily and the cost is usually no more than $50 per side (mine is 25). From how you take your IEMs out I can assume that the IEMs cracked between the shell and the faceplate which can be fixed with a little bit resin, it's even less serious than cracking in the shell itself. May I ask what manufacturer are your IEMs cuz this is obviously a rip-off

@@shirakuyanai4095 yeah, it’s not great. One cracked on the raised housing that seats the IEM cable. There wasn’t a good way to glue it together and maintain structural integrity. They are Ultimate Ears.
The broken connector was the non ip rated version. Since they were going in for repair I had them upgrade to the newer water resistant connectors too. That added a bit of cost. However, just repairing to the older connector was going to be expensive too. I can remember exactly, but I want to say $$150-ish.

Oh that explains it, they have to make a new shell so it's expensive

What do you call that thing that keeps the wires together and fitted at the back of the head?
