- Microsoft will invest US$2.2 billion to build new cloud and AI infrastructure in Malaysia. The tech giant’s CEO Satya Nadella announced this in Kuala Lumpur, the final stop in his three-nation tour of Southeast Asia. CNA's Melissa Goh reports from Kuala Lumpur.
Microsoft, Nvidia, and AWS are highly committed to investing in Malaysia and building the most powerful AI data centre.

Great piece of news. Been waiting for them to catch up for the longest time. It's ok we can be the small brother, no end of food to eat when the neighbourhood gets stronger.
I'm suprised Malaysia doesn't boycott Microsoft yet they went and boycott Starbucks and Mcdonalds.
Microsoft leads to better technology development and advancement in the country. Starbucks and McD on the other hand will only promote to diabetes, obesity and more chronic disease to the people of Malaysia. Malaysian people know which one is worth it to boycott. Nevertheless, Malaysia has always been solid in supporting a Free Palestine, region wise or globally. So it shouldn't be an issue at all.
This is truly amazing👏
Congratulations Malaysia. This is the second AI-related investment from the world's largest IT company after NVIDIA, a renowned technology company, investing a staggering RM20 billion in Malaysia to establish an AI Data Center in Johor Bahru last February 2024. There is no report of Nvidia investing in Indonesia despite the Indonesian Trade Minister Luhut Binsar Panjaitan once persuaded and lobbied the CEO of Nvidia to invest in Indonesia related to Ai.

Great counter questions by CNA newscaster! That’s how it should be, press on with the question to clarify doubts and drive the point more succinctly and clearly.
If only she's this proactive when it comes to the PAP.
As a newbie that wants to invest, you must have these three things in mind
1. Have a long term mindset.
2. Be willing to take risk.
3. Be careful on money usage, if you're not spending to earn back, then stop spending.
4. Never claim to know - Ask questions and it's best you work with a financial advisor.

Companies that use AI will pause on hiring as AI makes some jobs redundant. Is that a good thing for the country?
AI will not replace human but human that doesn’t know how to use AI will be replaced.
@@SoYappy More jobs will be eliminated than created. Get the point?
@@liarliar3412 the same thing was said about internet. Do you get my point that if you slack you lose your job? Get over it. Evolve or being left behind. Learn AI and survive.
@@SoYappy Companies, especially tech companies, will stop hiring humans for jobs that AI can do, not what cheaper foreign workers can do.
Still don't get the point?
Countries, each taken as a single entity, can't say no to new tech since that will make them left behind which would be a disaster. This means that their people will also suffer in the long run since their country is behind others. There's no other way than to adapt to new technology, just like always.
