Near protocol is truly a prominent blockchain, i appreciate this video and the breakdown of both ecosystem. Near protocol is all about pure scalability and infinite solutions for DeFi issues. Its super user friendly and a great foundation for devs to build Dapps,
NEAR's future is wonderful with these developers and the ideas they have. Most of them have IT awards from competitions! And why is the parallel use of the two projects excluded?
Bullish for a multi chain future. Solana will be amazing as long as it can fix the outages this bear market, Near is great but still has a lot to prove with sharding. Looking to continue buying in the -86% to -95% range for these tokens during the bear market.

Everyone in the comments hating on Solana. It has been in development 3x the amount of time LESS than Ethereum and is already processing over 15x the amount of transactions. Active users is also starting to dwarf that of Eth and the current price is like 1/17th the market cap. Like damn people(?) This is a master trade right in front of our eyes. Their plan to further secure the network and stop the outages is realistic and once implemented, the cost and speed of the network will be unmatched anytime soon. Look at tech, development, and fundamentals; there’s no room for bias in this space if you want real returns on investments or the ability to enjoy/use new networks. This is all just my opinion based on the data I’m seeing-thanks for stopping by.
Don't be a fan boy be subjective... SOLs transaction speeds are because it's semi-centralized, they need increasingly faster and faster hardware which is a barrier for entry for a validator to come in, which is not helping decentralization. ETH currently is on POW which is as decentralized as they come, when they move to POS they will be a barrier for entry (32 eth to become a validator) but not as nearly as hard as SOL, ETH will be less decentralized but thats POS, and my hope is that we dont see 50% of validator (from one country/equipment made by one company/run by one multinational company). As for the outages, the problem is every time they say that they fixed the problem, and more that 10 times now if i remember correctly they were wrong. that doesn't look good. that's only my opinion, i hope all decentralized crypto pumps and control as well as wealth goes from the hands of the few to hands of the many.
Keep hearing bots run by supporters of other cryptos attack Solana because it's number one by most metrics. But it'll only make the Sol network stronger.
This space man... one minute a project is the answer to all our problems and will be a great long term investment. 6 months later its high risk, got issues and may not be worth it. Very frustrating!

Another point about Near, is they focus on onboarding both devs and users. Devs are incentive with easy access information and further education to expand their capabilities. For users, Near's proximity lab is constantly working on easing the user interface/experience. The big hurdle of entry and adoption is constantly addressed at Near.... That said, I do not see why it will be one or the other. Funding of both L1s come from the same VCs

I don't know about that. BTC has users over time, ETH has users, ADA has many users in a short time. SOL was distributed to billionaires and have control over the price overall. It's artificially pumped and dumped because of the tokenomics started off with founders having a huge amount of the pie. Imo along with outages I don't like SOL at all, and along with fees/fail transactions I don't like ETH at all. BTC works, ADA works. I invest in those.

FYI, "alpha" is before "beta", so SOL won't be transitioning from "beta" to "alpha", but simply out of "beta". (At least that's how I understand the software development lifecycle.)

Release Candidate (RC) is fairly common I think. Golden Master (GM) (or General Availability (GA)) is pretty rare. And even after the "Final" release it's quite common for development to continue.

Great video but you are conflating outages with network congestion. Solana's network has only actually gone down 3 times, the rest of the times were just high congestion. If we counted every time ethereum was highly congested as an "outage" ethereum would be "going down" nonstop. Its definitely a concern but details matter.
Both very good projects for long term hold but SOL even more so as you could identify a wallet like Atomic Wallet and put your holdings to work and get passive yields from staking.

It's amazing to me that NEAR introduced Sharding which is incredibly difficult to say the least... years before ETH which plans to introduce it in 2023... and is super developer friendly, and yet it's still not top 10.... I think they spend all their money on R&D and development and nothing on marketing and getting their name out there (which is good long-term, but bad short-term and a bloody bear market might take them down). also the fact that don't really pay much attention to the US market isn't helping their market cap.

The biggest problem with the space right now is that everything seems to have negative or isn't really battle tested. ETH with gas fees, SOL with Security , ADA slow development, AVAX with Inflation. Nothing right now is really proven to be ready for global adoption because no one going to pay those gas fees and Solana turning of when it's smashing with to much TPS.

So if NEAR wallet is made with smart contracts, is there chance the NEAR foundation can halt/block certain wallet?? Has that code been audited if they can or can't.
