Iraq's per capita income is just ~$6000 - do you have any clue about growth rates and how much time it will take for you to match US/UK economy with your current growth rates? Are you kidding when you say under him Iraq would have become more developed than US/UK? Saddam destroyed the thriving Iraqi economy with his wars and dictatorship. He brought the GDP down to 1/4th of its value in a decade. And later it recovered because of oil exports but still it was HALF of what it was before Saddam took over. And even with oil exports it lost hundreds of billions worth of income because of saddam's policies and sanctions because of war. It had loss of hundreds of billions worth of infrastructure in war. Iraq was one of the fastest growing economies in the world before Saddam took over.
Iraq's per capita income is just ~$6000 - do you have any clue about growth rates and how much time it will take for you to match US/UK economy with your current growth rates?
And Iraq certainly has more status and respect as a democratic country now. Under saddam you were a pariah nation - seen as a crazy dictatorial country. You had as much respect as North Korea has in the world today.
