You don't necessarily need the Lyre but I find the best thing is to actually kill the drider and others right here anyway since you can release the Pixie and get a bell to always have protection without having to carry a torch ever.
This game is ALMOST too big and ALMOST too complex and confusing for my poor ADHD brain. Idk what I would do without the BG3 Wiki and YT. Thanks for making this video! :)
On my last playthrough I was able to stop him from having the Hyena go after it (speak with animals was on, so maybe that was the trigger that let me prevent it and was a ranger subclass), and still got to send the goblin to go get the bone (he deserves what he gets, you do not hurt animals needlessly). And then you can talk the Hyena into running free (no sign of him being killed in the darkness, not sure if he returns again at all but would be cool if he showed up at the camp one day to join my Owlbear and Puppy). But if you don't have the Lyre, you can use Illithid Powers to signal the Dryder.
This helped me a lot because this was a difficult quest jeez 😤 but I saved the tieflings, locked down emerald grove, and saved the gnomes on my play through so far! Trying my best to get the best ending on my bard before going full darth vader and becoming a psychopath and giving in to the dark urge 😈
Yeah I felt bad for the hyena. Felt bad for the goblin too when he said...but we were just about to head out. Still couldn't help laughing at the end 😆.
For save the prisoners I broke down the walls from the back. Waited for the warden to do her rounds and used arcane lock on the door so she couldn't get in and open the cells.
Same, i prepared laezel and karlach both with bludgening weapons, before both waiting behind those 2 walls, they destroy the boat's chain first and my other 2 character waiting next to the boat Then wait for the watcher and warden to pass those cells, enter turn based mode, and start smackin those wall with karlach and laezel, immediately group 2 of them together again with 2 next to the ship so they fast travel with your main party as well after that
I'm pretty sure that if you take too many long rests, the tiefling prisoners end up getting executed so try to keep that in mind. I can only assume that the gnomes are the same as well so try to make it a point to rescue them as soon as you can. In one of my playthroughs, I did Moonrise as my last objective (after doing Nightsong) and when I reached it, all the tieflings were already dead. Kind of lame the game doesn't tell you that it's urgent/time-restricted and/or doesn't tell you that a certain number of long rests can potentially cause you to fail the quest.
Doing nightsong gives you a warning before you enter the pool, it tells you to tie up loose ends, and asks you to confirm if you want to proceed or do other things. It's not a character saying that in form of a riddle, is a game popup that appears right in your face. I don't know how you missed that, but the popup is more than a good warning for the rest of us to turn back and do other quests. It's the same popup you get before you finish act one. So it's not the rests, it's doing nightsong's quest.
When I reached Act2, I ended up using Light-cantrip instead of torch (or Legendary mace from Mountain Pass), and it worked great keeping shadow curse away. Only had to be careful with some light extinguishing enemies.
Odd, i was still able to save the prisoners by entering from the underdark and after last light inn. probably because i rarely long rest well only enough to trigger cut scenes.
Do you have to save them before you do the temple of shar? Also if you dont kill the Drider and have him escort you to moonrise how do you get a lantern?
Yes save the prisoners first. You will get the lantern eventually from the orc lady, she gives you a key to balthazar's room that has the lantern, and she tells you to go grab it. There are some other hidden goodies in there too, watch the whole video to find out.
You can just talk to the hyena before the goblin and convince it to run away. He's a sweet little guy, I hate the outcome you chose. Astarion gives you the approval if you talk the hyena into leaving also
Man all Im trying to find is do I save Duke Ravengard before I go to Shars Temple it doesn't say which one to do first. But Shar's Temple will lock me out of some quests. Please anyone help. ? Watching this video is weird I usually just rock up and kill them all since I hate the absolute
You neglected to mention how you got to the location this vid starts at. I ask because I'm at the entrance to the Moonrise Towers area in the SW of the shadowlands, and this aint it.

Np, glad it helped 🙂
I feel you my fellow clutterbrain xD in act 3 I had so many open quests that I felt overwhelmed and ignored many of them xD
Playing your instrument to lure people away from the merchants, and then have your other character steel. 😊

How many hours per playthrough are you getting ?

Yeah, I woulda done the same to the goblin. That hyena didn't deserve that while it was just being a good nutso doggo.

Did not know you could "free" the Gnolls, as soon as I saw its possible.. Thank you very much!
This section of the game is so difficult. I don't think my ADHD brain is capable of planning out a prison escape..
While freeing the prisoners I get in combat every single time bc I don't want to go with them

Doing Nightsong is a point of no return so you need to do everything you want in the zone before that fight

@@TheDrsalvationidk if you meant to rhyme the last sentence but lol
Isn’t that just common sense? Isn’t that what this games about using your brain, there cultists.. prisoners don’t last long
When I reached Act2, I ended up using Light-cantrip instead of torch (or Legendary mace from Mountain Pass), and it worked great keeping shadow curse away. Only had to be careful with some light extinguishing enemies.
I ended up killing everyone in moonrise tower lol
Easiest method is definitely going via the rafters. You can then get them out really easily with little risk
Odd, i was still able to save the prisoners by entering from the underdark and after last light inn. probably because i rarely long rest well only enough to trigger cut scenes.
I used the very rare general dye on that robe. And red dye for the cape
I missed this.... maybe in the next play through
oh damn I'm scared now that I won't be able to free the prisoners because I left moonrise tower for last... Need to go home and check...

I already took the boat and then went back to rescue the prisoners later. Is there any way to get the boat back to Moonrise Tower?
Honestly the character > Barcus Wroot < went to baldur's gate 3 they didn’t come to the last light inn
Is there a reason I only have 2 tieflings to rescue? And not 4
Cause they're dead
💀

You cant save him till act III. So you're good to do shars temple and nightsong.
Thanks for that awesome mate@@ReveriesVideos
I don’t remember there being any dye in the camp chest. :(
You neglected to mention how you got to the location this vid starts at.
I ask because I'm at the entrance to the Moonrise Towers area in the SW of the shadowlands, and this aint it.
If you're talking about at 1:12? Got there from the mountain pass, then heading left to the next zone. That will lead you there.
