The writer's tent to indicate that ComStar had some knowledge about rumors regarding the deep periphery, without knowing something substantial. However, if such stories about monsters are going around, it is not difficult to see how and why Primus Adrienne Sims got her nightmares. For me, it makes sense and beats those "canon rumor" (which never made much sense, given what kind of Primus Karpov was).

I deliberately made mention of that at the end because I think that often gets overlooked. Despite all the examples given for reasons why people wouldn't want to live in the Combine, many billions of people are fiercely loyal to it and wouldn't chose any other life.

If Prince Michael had been more astute and calculating, he could have used the condition of "back my family's claim to the throne of Star League" to help play the PR game to boost the war game. So long as that stipulation stood, he could offer what would otherwise be excessively generous terms to the houses of Liao and Kurita with little risk of actually having to make good on such terms. Then he could spin this to paint them as the unreasonable ones turning down his charitable proposals to conclusively settle the conflict. Potray it as the other houses tying his hands to prevent more violence, while in reality freeing up his military to either win the current campaigns, or at least strengthen the First Prince's hand at the negotiating table for the real offers.
The Third War is my favorite part of the timeline. I would love it if you would put some time into it. I get your point that there is no need for a series of videos. But if you have material for 90 min to 3014 vs 60 min, for example, I’d rather have the video be longer. I also think the 30th Century has been largely neglected and I’d like to see more on it. Your stuff is great and very enjoyable. While I’m sure it is easier on you to make shorter videos I actually prefer them a bit longer to get more content.
Thanks for the feedback. Couple of points. I haven't actually cut anything to bring the video length down. I'm still talking about things in the same level of detail that I have since the Star League Civil War. There just happens to be less to cover in the 2ndSW bringing the overall runtime down. By dividing it up into the more chapters, that's allowed me to reduce the video length, but nothing was lost in that. I can make the individual chapters longer, but I'm working pretty flat out to get these out weekly, and increasing the length would simply make that impossible. You'd get longer videos but less frequently. As for the 3rdSW, I still haven't done the research to know just how much there is to cover. There isn't a dedicated historical sourcebook like I've had since the Reunification War, and so that's how I know it's going to pass quicker until we reach the 3000s. I anticipate it being about an hour to cover what we know, but I'm not planning to leave out anything significant just to get to the 3000s quicker if that's your fear. Hopefully that clears things up a bit.

I was only addressing the statement about 60 min to 3014 for the next series. I think there is probably more info about that available if you combine the five House sourcebooks but that’s just a finger-to-the-wind guess. The story at that point isn’t just the historical events themselves but the cultural transformation - much of it romanticizing the long lost Star League - that sets in with the Third War that lasts more than a century. Things like the One Star Faith or the Knights of Saint Cameron. By the time the classic game starts in 3025 these are part of the social fabric and Inner Sphere psyche. Again, love your work. I’ve been an avid fan since the Age of War series.
You make some good points. In fact I think you've touched on one of my weakest elements in the script writing. I get so far down into the nitty-gritty details that I lose sight of the broader picture sometimes. I'm going to do my best to discuss those gradual societal changes and switch in military doctrine.

Thank you for the feedback. I had been using the HBS BattleTech and MechWarrior 5 soundtracks almost exclusively until this series but I was getting sick and tired of hearing the same things. I really like the new music I've selected and I think it totally changes the tone of the videos for the better.

Really think that the best solution for BTech is to do a 40k and rewrite the history a bit (or a lot), at very least fixing the dark-age (If that had happened the clans would have turned the Innersphere Inside out)
The background detail in Battletech is is pretty good. However as fairly well read amateur historian I have noticed that royal/noble houses in our history DO NOT last very long. The average age 200 years. The lucky ones, 400 years. Just a thought....
I have no idea what happens in later eras, but this series is from the perspective of 3025. Certainly haven't used any up to 3057, which is where I'm at in the reading.
I wonder how the lyrians survived their constant punching bag status….. I mean, while they supposedly have the industrial and wealt advantage, even if they do an offensive, they loose those worlds within 3 years, and after that they just loose worlds. And wonder, how the lyrian army not revolted after defeat, after defeat, after defeat….
Because the LCAF can hold their own against the FWLM. They have as many victories as defeats on that front. The DCMS may have been steadily encroaching on their territory for centuries, but they know what kind of life they'll have under Kuritan rule, and they'll never stop fighting to be free of that.

From a meta perspective, when the writer picks a Roman Emperor's name for one of their heads of state, they're probably not planning to make them altogether same. It wasn't until I was finished this video that I realised his brother Marcus is also drawn from the same inspiration, though he managed to dodge the crazy pill.

That's a good question that the sourcebooks sadly don't delve into. Later in the war the Commonwealth specifically targets the Dieron District because even after 60-70 years, they've not been fully indoctrinated by Kurita, and thus will cause fewer issues for Steiner if they occupy the planets. Can't think of any other instances in the 2ndSW where the fact that a hundred systems around Terra might identify as Hegemony colonies is mentioned.
I guess I could mix it up a bit, but I feel like it would be a let down to get to the end of a chapter and not have it play. In the past I did drop it when something truly horrendous happened in the 1stSW.

Who were the last generation that lived in the pre civil war star league?
As in the last generation of leaders or just anyone? Folks would have to be 100 years old to have memories of a pre-war Star League by this point.

Is anyone else starting to dislike the music that ends the videos?
I guess I could mix it up a bit, but I feel like it would be a let down to get to the end of a chapter and not have it play. In the past I did drop it when something truly horrendous happened in the 1stSW.
