Here, The team takes on a '96 Peterbilt 379 that has seen millions of miles and decades of hard use...resulting in a giant repair list once they begin to sort through it all.
Ray you are a real artist, I have not seen anyone on the internet who puts as much heart and soul into his work as you do, great and respect. 💯👍🏻💯👍🏻💯👍🏻💯👍🏻💯👍🏻
I've been binge watching your channel and I gotta say Im a big fan, and I love your work. I'm from northwest Kansas but when I'm ready to paint my old cowboy truck serious thinking about giving you guys a call and making the drive. Your an honest paint and body man and that's hard to find anymore
Watching from Australia and it's a pleasure to watch a true professional craftsman applying his trade to these old trucks,,, good on you mate well done,,,,a pleasure to watch you,,,,cheers mate 🇦🇺👍
Most of these painters now days would be lost trying to put a quality paint job with the shine like you do with a siphon feed paint gun or the pressure pot. Almost all the new painters have to have a $2500 HVLP gun & wet sand & buff, & most still can't lay down a paint job that looks as good as yours.
Well, I certainly appreciate that, my friend! the very first thing I ever painted was around 28 years ago...and I've been doing it full time for a quarter century. So experience is definitely a factor. However...having a good game plan and a clear head for each shoot is also a key component. Patience and stubborn pride about your finished product really seals the deal though. Thanks a lot!
for a truck that will be used and beat for work again after the paint, this is a great job. Anything more would be a waste of time. You either go full bore and remove the cab, strip interior and outside of doors and lights and sleeper and paint it from inside out OR....Do what this guy did. This is a great job for a work truck. Id be happy with it.
Yes 5 months later I found it also. Absolutely love how he puts a completed truck in a single video, instead of dragging it out over many weeks. Bravo Sir 👏👏👏.
i used to do multiple videos in the early days...but decided against it after watching a few of them and realizing how much of a drag that can be. thanks for your positive input!
First time VIEWER, you do MAGIC to an old truck extends the life ,no electronics no DEF got to be a winner look forward to your next video Cheers Kym Adelaide Sth Australia
It's been a while since I shot that video... If you are talking about the hand painted ones that some trucks have...especially the older trucks...what I do is sand them off with a D.A. sander and then wet sand prime them. Then you have to sand the primer again the next day to fully remove them. For vinyl stripes...just use a stripe eraser on a lower speed on a drill
The vast majority of the trucks we do are former coast to coast type trucks which have been turned into work trucks and more local runners. In other words...the meager fuel efficiency bonus of having those in place isn't so much a factor anymore and as a work truck...all those fairings seem to do is get in the way and eventually become damaged. I'm simply trying to hand these owners a truck that they will never have to pay for paint work on again after they leave my shop. Nearly every single truck we see that has fairings on it has significant damage on the fairings that we are sparing them from having to deal with in the future.
ive been doing this for a quarter century, and ive tried the different ways. tearing out an entire interior just to replace the huck rivets alone is more time than that took me.

Beautiful truck
thank you very much!
really nice work slow and meaningful, what is the average price of your paint jobs?
sleeper trucks typically go for 15 to 18...depending on the details. Thanks a lot, Andy!
@@teams.t.e.a.m6214 that seems reasonable considering the time and material and labor your doing, keep up the good work, i enjoy watching
Looks good
Hey thanks!
Nice job!
thank you very much!
How does hail damage happen on the side of a truck??? You do a great job!
A lot of these storms have high winds that come along with the hail. Thanks a lot!
GOTCHA, Great job ironing them out.@@teams.t.e.a.m6214
Where are you located at your work looks great
Upton, Wy. Thanks a lot, buddy!
You talked about the pinstripes but you didnt mention what you do to get rid of them

I think I would have just replaced that small sleeper door. I wish you would have shown us how you fixed that.
If I can fix something in a timely fashion without replacing it...that's typically what I do.
The old girl looks pretty good
Thank you very much!
Looks like you are using a siphon cup with your gun. Not a painter but still use that along with a Binks 7 I bought years ago.
i started my business 24 years ago with a binks model 7 and a binks model 18. great reliable guns. I use a binks model 2001 nowadays.
Where is his shop located??
Upton, Wy
Haha….Cowboy trucks. Had to laugh at that.
ha! thanks buddy!
front bumper???
not my problem...not my truck
How much does a job like that cost?
around 12
Nice 👍
thanks a lot!
Dang wish it was that original tourquise my 359 is that color
thats a great color for sure!
they all look good but what's up with you and talking people into taking the wings off my buddy has a 2013 t600 but would not take them off

With that much dings and dents its cheaper just to replace the panels than it is to do all that body work time equals money

You made a ha ha.
Yeah...I'll do that sometimes!
I'm from Ohio you wood paint my 1984 359
You bet we would. We'll just have to get together on the details
