Yeah, it's not just on an "indefinite hiatus," it's finished. The creator wanted to move away from analog horror didn't want to be associated with it anymore (he was also pretty emotional about it too).
@@SeriesOC to be fair it was pretty unoriginal other than the "virus" being a drug. everything else was just creepy faces and copy and pastes of other analog horror elements
8:41 decoder here! after hours of attempting to translate the numbers I ended up brute forcing it to what I think is a success! I made a reddit post about it, but to sum it up it essentially translates to a request from one party to another about purchasing more of the smile drug to “plant (a) seed” to spread it, most likely meaning Shaun’s infection. At least, that’s what I took from it ^^
There's one more video you forgot to cover. It's called "Mule", and it doesn't seem to be a continuation. It appears to be a prequel, and it shows a hiker stumbling upon a cabin in the mountains with an infected inside it (who likely got the fungus from the black market, seeing how they're shown opening a suitcase with a flour-like substance, likely the spores of the fungus), and unfortunately, our hiker is killed by the infected man in the cabin, who likely goes on to be the same guy who threw "flour" at Sean Gomez But as of right now, the series appears to be 100% finished in terms of story. The same can't be said about another analog-horror Patorriku was working on called "They Lie Above", as sadly, Patorriku lost interest in the horror genre and went on to pursue a music career. Good for him, I guess

the smile tapes were actually the first analog horror i ever watched! it’s such a simple yet terrifying concept, and it’s shown in a great, traditional analog horror way.
@@NxlsssIf it was a slight difference, it's okay but mistaking a fungus for a virus is odd, but really it does not matter anyway since it's an analog horror and not a biology class.

I'm you're looking at The Smile Tapes. Sadly, this is all we're getting from the content creator stopped making videos a couple of years ago. I really wanted to see him continue The Lies Above, but I think he's in a better place now. He's making music and has a passion for it :)
