Why are so many people saying this ride doesn’t have good theming? First you have a typical old haunted house hallway, which fits, then a balcony, then another haunted house room, with organ music, and monsters and ghosts, which also fits, then a whole area themed to a cave and mine, which my not? Is it not possible that a mansion could have an entrance to a mine? Maybe the owner could have been rich or something; Plus, that bookshelf secret passageway is so clever! Then, a graveyard area with MIST pumping in the air, then a balcony over the beach, because maybe the owner of the house built it over a beach; then a spider’s den area, then a whole room themed to skulls, then, after the skeleton with the hose, you have the devil distracting you so you get hit with the truck. Every room has a big overarching theme, so how can these people say that it’s disorganized?
The lighting and misdirection in this ride is actually pretty good! And it’s perfectly spooky in that comical way, doesn’t take itself seriously and arranges it’s (surprisingly many) assets in a well paced way. The overhead track is a nice touch too, and sidesteps the usual problem I have with more traditional haunted train rides, that being the transparently “zig zag” pathing. I am sounding a little over analytical here because there’s a strange amount of slander on both sides of “this is bad vs this is great” argument. I think tempering expectations works wonders. Coherent stories require more budget, and more modern technology (realistic animatronics, high end speakers, specifically commissioned sets etc.) and as an older style dark ride I think this is perfectly charming. I’d go on it for a different reason than I would go on, say, JP/JW River Adventure
I love this ride I rode in in 2021. It's a great dark ride. I like it because it does not recycle scenes from horror movie. Well, almost the Wolfman and Frankenstein Monster are part of the ride. It does not jerk you around. The skull room rocks! The facade is great! I would not change a thing about this ride. I like that it mixes scary and funny. I would ride this again.
Great POV of this! It’s just like Mystery Mansion, but except this came out earlier than that ride from Adventure Long Island! It’s still a great inverted Dark Ride though! 👍
🤣🤣🤣 At 3:18 I thought it was a skeleton taking a piss!!!! Speaking of which, that's a lot of skeletons! And it was so random at the start opening to the balcony overlooking the teacup ride 🙄🙄🙄
@@72dodge340 it definitely! It also feels slightly more cohesive in the moment. There’s an insane amount to look at and no one can ever capture that on a single ride through video unfortunately. The ride is a classic with classic features as well as having been updated over the years of course. I’ve ridden many dark rides and this one always still remains my favorite honestly.
@@mdalsted eh, unfortunately you’ll never get the true feel from a single quick ride through anyway. The ride has SO much to look at and really has a better flow in person.
I love The Haunted Mansion at Disney World but this looks even cooler. I want to ride this. The suspension of the vehicles on this ride gives me a feel of being a ghost or spirit haunting the attraction. I wish the Haunted Mansion did that. The stream of the water with the skeleton was jaw-dropping.
Needs a lot of updating. I almost feel bad that it’s not being kept very well. There’s areas where there is missing sound and the effects/jump scares are queued way too soon. Idk it looks okay but def could use some tlc.
The thing that always gets me about rides like this is the lack of story. Like... when do you see skeletons and spiders and Frankenstein's monster clones teaming up? When does that happen in movies? Because it happens in _every_ single ride that seems to have the theme of "Generic Halloween Party Store."
Movies are full length features this is a ride under 4 minutes…which even then is a longer one. Not sure what kind of full fleshed out story you would expect 😂 it’s a haunted mansion full of monsters…that’s the story.
@@Dot_dot_dot891 But you don't just throw every monster under the kitchen sink together. Skeletons and goblins and mummies and Jason Voorhees mixed together is like a kid making a special sauce out of mayo, relish, olives, and maraschino cherries. "Do you like it mommy?" "....y-yeah. It's...it's delicious!🤢"
Then you just proved that you do not know what a good dark ride is; you have no taste for good dark rides at all; what makes a dark ride good is the design, the imagination, the clever ideas and how they are implemented; In addition, these old haunted house dark rides, especially Bill Tracy ones, have way more brain power and effort put into them than most Halloween stores nowadays; not all rides need to have a story and scenes connected perfectly together to be good; you’re just an angry person, probably a Disney simp, that just jumps straight to conclusion and criticism without looking deeper and seeing the beauty of these rides; you have no right to say what you just said, and you insulted brilliant ride and attraction designers like Bill Tracy who worked almost his entire life, dedicating hard work on these kinds of rides and bringing his vision to life.
Because it's been that way for decades and if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Kids won't have seen horror movies as a whole so wouldn't question the lore of a ghost train and for adults; these are designed to be silly, comical and over the top. Their randomness is part of the appeal and charm. They don't need a coherent story throughout, they need cheap laughs/scares, loud noises and flashing lights. I've never heard or read anyone complaining about the continuity in a classic ghost train. 🤣
These comments have no idea what a good dark ride is. Plus, no videos of this ride really do it justice, and most people in the comments section haven’t ridden it, so they have no right to say what they are saying; rides like these have a distinct special feel to them when you’re riding it in person that can’t be brought to life on a video. These rides also have may more attention to detail and unexpectedness than most modern dark rides; I mean when I ride Sally Corporation dark rides, which BTW are overrated, everything is so unpredictable and not cliche wow *sarcasm intensifies*
What's wrong with you? Most praising it like myself. Who used to work at the actual WDW Haunted Mansion. Read the comments first before posting this smh
I'll give it credit for being suspended and two story, especially when "climbing" the stairs, but a lot of the props and scenery were just "meh." Not sure how common they are, but A LOT of props and scenes seemed ripped straight from Knoebels (both their Haunted House and the Black Diamond). Am I missing something? Is this a temporary fair type thing? I'll let it slide on that, but those skeletons in the mine murals? Sheesh.
Eh, it's ok. I think vendors need to work on making the rides more immersive and less obviously mechanical. Disney's Haunted Mansion is pretty good, but even that could be improved. Still, I'm sure this would be entertaining IRL. Thanks for the upload!
3:30 ... thought it would go ''Hello, im here to talk about your car-insurance'' xD
Such an awesome ride, didn't expect it to be so long and elaborate

I agree
I think it's amazing, immersive and well well put together. Even the video pulled me in.

Yes, but when I go on it, since I live in that state, it’s a lot darker.
I’ve seen lots of videos of this ride, but this is the first time I could actually see the glowing floating skulls. Great video!
This is probably the best haunted dark ride I’ve seen. They spent time and money on this and the end result was great!
I love Funland, I was just there. This ride is iconic even though it’s pretty cheesy.
Awesome video of an awesome attraction. First video of this ride I've seen that was bright and clear enough to be able to really appreciate it.
That was fun. Thanks for filming it. I was waiting for the Big Semi truck honking.
I really like this classic ride, so wholesome.
Really needed to hear some shout, "Here we go!" as those doors open. Looks really cool for what it is.
Now this is one of the best dark rides I've seen for a long time. Excellent effort put into this one.

omg, I love it. soon as I saw the casket I would have freaked out. they literally put alot into this
These comments make me fear for the future of dark rides….

Might be a good idea to edit your comment to explain why it's so good.

I remember these kind of Spooky Rides as a Kid Always fun Times
Great video! Interesting ride system!
Cool-looking ride with lots of imaginative vignettes!
I like this! Some parts are weirdly quiet but I like the scenes and effects

That ride seems like great fun! 😊
Thanks for the heads up with the flashing lights. The last couple of years they have really started to hurt my eyes.
This is one of my favorite rides.
I loved the nod to "The Phantom of the Opera" in the funeral scene. (8/20/2022)
I 100% love how outright dumb this ride is. Legitimately charming in its outrageous stupidity
I LOVE this ride, its only 45 mins from my house and ride it each summer

Wow. Awesomeness ride.
That's a fragged up ride.........I'd ride it.
Some nice theming in this ride!
I love this!!!
This looks like a lot of fun. I would love to ride it
I enjoyed both the thrusting skeleton and the urinating skeleton. That's a pretty nice dark ride.
The impression I got from that last guy's words near the end of the ride was that he was there to talk to you about your car's extended warranty.
Looks quite fun 👍👍👏👏

This is a really good one.

Not every good ride has a story. Jungle Cruise, for example. That was just a tour of a jungle, and people seem to enjoy riding that one.

It’s the “you” on the tombstone that got me lol
This place is so awesome
Do a video of Trimper’s Haunted House on the Ocean City Maryland boardwalk next.
Can you record another pov of this because it’s graveyard has actually been renovated!
Love the overhead track style ride. They could have had more effects below, such as a bottomless pit, hands coming up, etc.
Love this ❤💀
I would love to have this in my backyard !
1:16 I love that Organ and I think it's just playing random notes. Unless it's using a song.

It had elements of Mr Toad in there.
You mean the semi truck and train crash?
Good video
I actually had to stop around 1:27, because I thought that this animatronic looked almost like Michael Myers from Halloween.
This ride is actually kinda scary-
I would be screaming for my parents tbh lol
