This wasn't mentioned in the video, but AFAIK if the battery has been disconnected the Battery Monitor requires a reset (typically by a dealer?). Hook up a second 12v battery with jumper cables to the car's battery cables before disconnecting them from the car's battery, to maintain voltage to the car during the swap. Also, only a Group 67R 12V replacement battery will fit.
Wish you would have shown removing the hold down. Mine seems stuck for some reason. 😕 And I have been going insane trying to figure out how I could be messing things up.
It would have been a better video if it showed you removing it from start to finish. I normally don't judge but some of these can be a real pain in the rump, and it is good to see the problems that could arise during the removal process, and the solutions.
@@FordBossMe if you cannot handle some honest criticism, you should not be making videos. I watch many you tube videos from start to finish with zero complaints about video length. I also learn more from other people's mistakes, they can be very helpful to people who do not do this regularly. stop being so self-conscious. and just take some friendly advice. you can speed up video clips to show the whole process if you are worried about people losing interest. My battery died on my 2014 Cmax hybrid SE yesterday. I went ahead and jumped it with my other vehicle. Drove it home with no problem. This morning when I was about to start it nothing happened. Seems like I have a battery issue. Is it possible to charge it? Maybe keep the vehicle running for a while?
The battery that you recharge at the pump is a different battery than the one that powers your car. I’ve had a 2015 C-Max for a good while now, and every time I noticed the battery getting low, charging seldomly helped. Maybe just enough for another commute to work, but it was almost always better to just replace the thing. So about every 2-3 years when the key fob would stop connecting consistently. I find it a fair bit annoying that disassembly is required to install the battery. Who designed this?
The 12 volt battery in the trunk is the main battery without it nothing in the vehicle works and then the Hybrid battery kicks in and runs the rest of the functions
Whats happening Ford Boss!! Another great video. Question, are the Motorcraft Batteries much better than aftermarkrt such as Autozones Duralast and Advance autos batteries for example?
Great video, just did this job, new battery solved problem of electronics in my 2015 C-Max shutting down to save power...thanks!

@moquiti the car has a 8hr reset on its own, a computer is not necessary
The car must sit untouched with doors locked for 8 hrs
@@FordBossMe good to know, thanks for the info!

What 12 volt fits the ford cmax? Any type?
I don't remember
Only Group 67R. Unfortunately few choices in this category, for example a higher CCA rating is not commonly available, if at all.

Then you'd complain about the length of the video to smdh

Possibly a slow charge
@@FordBossMe I'll probably take it to dealership this weekend to get the battery replaced.

Your video says hybrid main battery would not be the battery for the hybrid not the 12 V car battery?

I believe so and a longer warranty with the Motorcraft Max ones
I like using the Motorcraft batteries but let's be honest
there are actually only like 4 battery manufacturers I think
@@FordBossMe Cool thanks. Whats the diff between the reg Motorcraft and the Max ?
I think the Max has a better warranty an extra 2 years prorated three years covered
Where the regular battery I think it's just two or three years
Getting the hold down out is the tough part for me, and not shown here.
I had everything off to remove the driver side motor mount. Hybrid battery was in the way.
How do I remove the battery when I can't get the back hatch open
You'll either need a jump or a jumper pack. The hatch latch is 100% electric. I am learning this the hard way as I type this. Thanks Ford.
I have a 2015 too but your trunk is way different then mine.
That is the 12V battery NOT the 'main battery", as in the title.
Turn in your TH-cam licenses.
I fixed it just for you sugar bottom
