Winifred Falls - What Lies Beneath

WARNING! Waterfalls and waterholes can be a death trap.
Heavy rainfalls have washed lots of debris into these falls creating many underwater snares.
The water was a bit cool as I took the plunge into the rich red tannins flowing along South West Arm into Winifred Falls.
Winifred Falls is one of the best waterfalls in Royal National Park and easily accessible from Warumbul Rd, but keep in mind there is a steep rocky descent for the last 300m getting you down to the falls.

Great video. The 3 Tiered National Falls in the Southern Parts of the Royal National Park is also very impressive after heavy rain.
If you are looking to do a longer walk that includes Winifred Falls may I suggest the Loftus (Station) to Bundeena 19k walk. One version of it can be found in the AllTrails app.

Planning on doing Winifred falls walking track from Maianbar to Audley possibly next week depending on whether weir is open. That way we get more time to explore upstream South West Arm
Too hard to get to National Falls at the moment with McKell ave closed
