Mike , in my opinion you only need a plan if someone is paying you to ride the bike and a car with spare bikes on the roof is following you shouting out the plan.
Until then the plan is to just have fun.
Absolutely 😁... In my case the shouting is more like "why are we going this way?" " where are we going next?" "How far to the coffee shop?" A cycling version of backseat driving😂🚴 thanks for the comment Justin

Im the same Mike i just ride as fast or as slow, long or short, I make it up as i go along.
I plan routes on Strava but never seem to stick to them as always a lane attracts my attention and I go that way.

It's an Aeronova 40cm from Ali Express. I wasnt sure at first but we have several on our bikes and no issues with any of them. They're quite shallow so not too extreme in the drops. Cheers for the comment 👍
