Yeah, had a look at that one too. It's great aint it?! His name was Jo Dworniak and he was the bass player with I Level. They had a couple of great tunes, same bass tone. Check Teacher and Give Me, absolutely funky as anything! Level 42 were totally awesome and true, Mr Pink is more technical, dont forget to check out 'The Pursuit Of Accidents' from Level 42, not just the album but the title track. I defy any bass player to work all of it out and play along without their forearm hurting!!
I could not agree more! I think Mr Pink is probably more "virtuous" but this rocks my boat more. Have you seen .../watch?v=N3c2G9RaSxs? The bass sounds like the studio track (shame that that wasn't "live") but it's 8 minutes of awesome stuff...
Great song with a simply amazing bass line. Still one of the slappiest/hardest funk lines about. I've never got tired of hearing this.
excellent!!
As relevant in 2020 as it was when it was written...
Song of Real World...after 40 years.
most hard edged soulfull political song ever say no more classic.
Totally right Andrew! Was a huge Level 42 fan and love Kingy but this bassline stands right up there alongside the best!
Original dirt of my shoulder Kiki Dee style nice
