Good video, I'm glad you appreciate a lot of the female characters in Naruto. A lot of them are underrated, and you're completely right on the community's criticism being overblown!
@@Sweetdude64 Thanks man I really appreciate it, their are definitely some good faith arguments about Kishimotos handling of female characters, but people just jump on the band wagon and shit on them for noting but finding it funny and it just understates some of great character writing Kishimoto has actually done. Who would be your favourite female character in Naruto ?
@@jackcypher7474 Ooh good question! My favorite character in Naruto in general is Kimimaro. Seperating my personal favorite from who I think is BEST, Madara is the BEST Character in Naruto. But for females, that's tough. It's a toss up between a lot of them, lol. Though I may go with Tayuya from the Sound 4 as favorite? Though Temari is up there too. BEST female is also hard. It could be Tsunade, Chiyo, Sakura, or Hinata. Probably not Kushina, though she is definitely up there. It's definitely tough! A lot of people hate Kaguya, and she doesn't do much as a character, but in concept alone she is extremely solid for the narrative of the final arc. Then in Boruto, I really am liking Eida as a character. Sarada and Himawari started cool, but has tapered off for me personally. If we include fillers, there's a ton more characters I could list, but even some filler only development for characters such as Yugao are phenomenal and deserved to straight up be in the manga. Can Boruto era Orochimaru count? XD I feel like I'm leaving off contenders and now I feel bad, lol. Konan is cool, but not contender for me. Then there are a few meh characters like Ino, Tenten, Mei, and Kurenai, and a ton of Boruto era females like Tsubaki and Namida. So far, I don't like the female Shinjuu, Matsuri. Though Wasabi is unironically high on my favorites list! Same with Sumire from the anime continuity in particular There are a few underrated/novel/side manga only characters who are great like Mirai and Tamaki and Tatsumi. I did an Anko rewrite recently, so if we take my hypothetical version of the character, she's pretty cool XD IF Haku was a girl, he'd count. But since he's not, he doesn't XD And finally, a whole slew of movie only characters, but I won't even bother finding the names. Though there would be a lot of them, lol.
@@Sweetdude64 Hey man really great comment here you put a ton of thought in it (I may miss some things you said but to answer it) I can’t comment on Boruto, I’ve seen about 100 episodes of the anime and nothing in the manga, the series just didn’t do anything to me neither did the characters really. (When I get in the mood again I’ll pick up the manga and try that) Kimimaro is a really great pick, I love it when peoples favourite characters are more niche picks. I absolutely loved his power and thought he was really cool. And like you mentioned Madara is probably my favourite character and if not favourite definitely top 3. I actually did like the premise of Kaguya but just thought it could have been better executed. Tayuya and Kushina are really good shouts as well and honestly if they had more screen time I could definitely see them actually being the best female characters in naruto. For right now though I do think that Tsunade is the best female character and my favourite out of them. I will say that Sakura does have a lot of good writing behind her but also a lot of shit writing which balances it out in a negative way unfortunately.
