The amount of damage Yagami got in the later games using raiden (ff2) into duck and launch was so insane to see. He had conditioned Chanel to jab him out of sentai so much that Chanel couldn't stop doing it at all. And Yagami would cancel sentai after ff2 everytime and just duck Chanel's jab into launch punish each time INSANE
Very smart to force the mind games against Chanel because neither Alisa nor Zafina have a genetic D+1. Most characters can OS every single option from FF2 sentai with dick jab with Sen 1 power crush being the only option that beats it, so you force Reina to make a hard read. But what’s crazy is, in my head as I’m typing this, I realize that Yagami might be OSing against D+1 when he does FF2 duck since DF will low parry dick jabs. That actually might be a really smart setup idk.
This right here is what finally pushed my opinion on coaching from being neutral into wanting it to be banned. Witnessing Chanel completely unravel in real time as Yagami slowly regains his confidence is such a cool factor in playing long sets. It's not until the final game that Chanel managed to collect himself to finally play on an even footing again for a double Luigi. If somebody came up on stage and told Chanel to stop falling for Yagami's ff2 setups, this comeback may not be possible.

Chanel may have thought, "I've smoked this guy with my sub (Zafina) so when I switch to my main (Alisa) it will be a steamroll" but the opposite happening would get anyone a bit flustered. Secondly, Chanel didn't download Yagami at all in the first 4 games and in the following games he must've been shocked at how downloaded he was by his opponent and must've focused more on cleaning up his own tendencies rather than focusing on Yagami's tendencies.

I don't know why, but Chanel was over using df+4 out of Scarecrow, and the longer the set went on the more Yagami was blocking it, in the match he lost with Zafina if Chanel had traded a couple of those df+4s with a couple of 4s or 1+2s he would've won. I thought maybe he was conditioning him, but he wasn't. 3:40 perfect example, Chanel hits 4 and he gets a 58 damage combo instead of getting punished for the blocked df+4
Yagami won a small but very stacked tournament at the redbullsphere Tokyo just after Evo, there was Shadow, top jp player, Joey, kuroten etc. I was there and the way he won made me convinced he will at some point make it big in Tekken scene.
I posted on your video a week ago that Yagami has the best Reina. Only found him because he fought in Wellington NZ against Ranghu and they had an epic final.
Steve main here. I Labbes Reina since the start of Tekken 8 and reached Tekken God in February, (I'm not playing Tekken 8 right now) but Yagami and Ulsan are my inspirations, Yagami is the best tech expert out there, while Ulsan is so aggressive and wavuwavu with Reina crazy stuff.
As a multi player, seeing Reina reach the top where she belongs makes me happy lol now Yagami throwing out that counter hit high was so riskyyyyyyyy but damnnnnnnnnnnnnnn that crazy😮

For anyone interested in Raygun. She won a tournament to see who would go represent at the Olympics. She was literally the best they had in Australia. And the Breakdance scene is just a bunch of people gathering outside a building dancing on the sidewalk. No studio like most of the other Olympic competitors. Idk why Australia need a breakdance representative they should have passed on that.
Longer sets are so different to short, it’s almost a different skill set, i tend to do better over a longer set, which is a weakness because in ranked or tourney I don’t adapt fast enough. I’ve got smoked 2-0 in ranked, asked for a ft10, got smoked another 2-0 and then won the set 10-2. I adapt but too slowly
Yagami spent the first four rounds just reading Chanel like a book. Then goes on to absolutely WRECK HOUSE for like 12 straight rounds. The nail biter ending was so good.

NGL a FT5 is much better than a best of 3. Players can adapt better and use other characters in a set.
Maybe instead of FT2 with FT3 in the finals, it should be FT3, with FT4 in top 32, and then FT5 in quarters and up. Although I worry it'd make events impossible.
In a single elimination bracket in this tournament format, yes this works better than a first to 3.
