thank you for making this video Its my birth place and even though I was brought up in siliguri and live in siliguri, every vacation I find myself living in Latpanchar. And to this date, I still get amazed, my calming place and I stay with my family so that's a bonus point I guess. I need to capture some moments too
I have already visited the place thrice, and wish to visit again. One of the best pristine destinations for wildlife and nature lovers. Will take my daughter there when she comes of age.
Amazing captures. And you did a good job educating us about the simple lives of the natives and how much we should respect that. When I was there, I have seen people make merry till late in the night which is not a good practice. You keep it up.
You've put together an amazing video! Love the narration. So engaging and interesting!! Would love to get answers to a few questions: 1. For bird-watching, how much would a guide charge? 2. Is March a good time to spot birds? 3. Is the place safe for solo female travel? 4. Is it worthwhile to visit Latpanchar for a day/two even if I'm not planning to bird watch? Thank you!!
Glad you enjoyed watching 1. they will charge around 400 per trip. (morning & evening separate) 2. Apr-May is a good time as it is the mating season and male birds can be seen in their best plummage. also the activity is increased. in other seasons also activity is there but the colourful plummage of the male birds fades away as one gets far from the Apr-May season. Activity time for all season is - sunrise to 8am and 3pm to 30min before sunset 3. Yes it is safe. u will get good homestays ( i prefer staying at Padam Gurung's - Hornbill nest/ Broadbill nest). If u need the contacts i will share it. 4. besides bird watching other activities will include going to Ahaldara viewpoint (360 deg view - i have a video on it- 15mins by car - u need to reach early), just staring at Gajoldoba valley from the balcony at latpanchar, nature hikes to lower Mahananda & upper Sittong (Ahaldara, Namthing Pokhri - 15mins by car or 2hr uphill oneway, 1 hr downhill oneway), playing guitar with Parag (padam ji's son) & meditating/ doing nothing.
