- Engwe M20 unbiased review, I have since redone this bike. I have made it better, I have replaced the rear shock, i have rebuilt the seat, you can actually pedal it now for longer distances, I removed the fenders for that motocross lock, and added white wall tires 👍🏽 I actually love the bike now it’s great .

I love my M20. I can get it to almost 40mph downhill. I can get almost 40 miles with no pedaling. The thing I like the most is that it is easily upgraded. I like to customize things. This thing is a great bike at the price point
I picked mine up for $1149 and I think it's a value at that price point. I have the single battery model and I get up to 27 MPH when fully charged. I agree, Pick up is not the best but I'm 6ft 225 pounds. I feel the suspension is excellent for the price point. I've never bottomed out. Yes it's stiff but certainly not as stiff as a rigid frame that costs $700 more! This bike is built extremely well and all you"ll ever need if you're using it to bar hop like me :)
I think it a unbalanced POS bike, how the hell do you pedal this thing over 6 foot tall 😂😂 I don’t think it’s a good value at all. There’s a full suspension E Bike on Amazon for $999 that rides better than this, has a level seat and goes 31 mph.

I have one a month ago... I was looking for time and looking, it will not run like others that have a horrible model, I pedal well with it for me a very nice model and it works well... the super 73 30mph and they are not cheap, I tell you they are better than many in the market
Oh, don’t get me wrong. I agree with you. The price is very good compared to a Super 73. But there are a lot of good bikes on Amazon for $300 less than this one that are even better.

I hated the seat angle, snd the whole front end is out of balance
Nice review. At 165 lbs I am able to go 35+ miles on full throttle. Peddling 55-70 miles. The LCD does not read accurate but the lights on the actual batteries do. If you turn your bike off and on again itll go back up battery wise. I took mine to the BMX track and she did fine lol.
I put a few customize parts on it, and I do like the bike a lot better now👍🏽⚡️

worst ebike i ever owned, that seat angle is horrible, and the front of the bike is very unbalanced, try and let go of the handlebars while the bike is in motion, wobbly-but be careful

i'm 155lbs, i have no problems climbing and mine goes 26mph. i always ride around 15-19mph which is fine for me. although it doesn't have hydraulic brakes it still brakes well but i will get hydraulics. i will too get a new rear suspension for the bike. for the money i am very happy with my m20 and happy to ride it every day

@@brycewatson6042 you better do some research on that. There’s a video out there on TH-cam. It didn’t do too well on hills. If I were you, I would save up some more money and buy the grizzly. Dual Motors 👍🏽 it will fly up any hill

Well since this video, i did put some money into this bike, it can be made better, i have a seat riser coming so u can pedal better, gel seat, I changed the tires, going to upgrade the controller, im going to install hydraulic brakes, and i also changed the rear shock. Even with all those upgrades its still cheaper than a super 73, but if u want a super comfortable ebike, I would go with s Cyrusher Kommoda, check out mine👍🏽
You might wanna check out the Happyrun G60 tank that peaks at 1500 watts and an amazing shock system for only $1100

I like my Engwe. The seat is uncomfortable. I get 26-27mph at 200 lbs.
There is a group on Facebook one of the guys prints 3-D prints a seat riser. It really helps a lot, but I sold mine anyway look at the same bike pilot

Got rid of my M20 after 2 week and gone back to my tank like Sealup Q18 e scooter. Slow as a snail but way more comfy gets 25mph!
I never heard of that scooter do you have a video? I’m actually looking for another stand up scooter but I do not want a super fast one I don’t wanna go fast I’ve been there and done that I just want something that goes like 27 mph I heard that Apollo is coming out with a new model called the go, it checks all of the boxes👍🏽
@@JerseyStyle7 At max speed 25 mph I got 30 mile including hills. Yeah u got to kick scoot a bit with one leg to help it climb but it works!

I was seriously considering buying one of these exact models. Everything you mentioned I agree with. The engineering and parts are substandard for 2023. These bikes look good in pictures but they’re very heavy and expensive on parts. The seat, frame, suspension… they’re all poor quality. How they got to seat and frame geometry wrong is beyond me. There’s a lot of cheap, inferior electric bikes coming from China, so be careful what you buy. These bikes are not designed by cycle enthusiasts, they’re designed for one purpose, to make money. Stick to established bike manufacturers for your ebike.
I got a Segway scooter and its range is junk, does not even cover a quarter the advertised range. Was looking at these though. Good to get different perspectives. 👍

I thought the shock worked well personally, but I usually ride hard-tail bikes so I'm coming from that. I did some wattmeter tests, and the bike does peak at 1000W but I thought it accelerated a bit poor as well. I will be making a vid of the mods I did to the controller to increase to 1500w; helps a ton in acceleration but the motor really does just top out around 28mph. I wonder if your battery combiner was junk regarding the range. I was taking wattmeter readings of the stock controller and one time plugging in, the module just went poof. Opened it up, and it burned a hole through the PCB. So I had to buy another battery combiner off Amazon. Does yours seem to actually drain both batteries?

It’s funny you ask that question I just ordered some material on Amazon. I’m going to redo the seat and try to level it out.
So you hold two buttons down, you get into a menu and turn up the top speed.
TH-cam "hack engmwe and the model number" it might work and speed it up, me I am getting a Talaria x3 road legal 😊
It's a shame because it looks nice for a factory bike. It would be better with a controller upgrade and hydraulic brake upgrade

love the look of these bikes but here throttle is illegal i'm looking for one thats still comfortable to pedal but none are. they all just have pedals for legal reasons but no-one uses them.

Look at my other video I have a seat riser for the seat. It’s very comfortable to pedal now. Also, they have different throttles set ups for different countries.

Well, you can get a new one for about 900€. I would say, its 100% worth the price.
I'm considering this e-bike to commute to work, I'm 5'9" 140lbs and have 27 miles total journey on fairly smooth asphalt.
The price of this compared to many other options here, is pretty good.

People needs to understand and stop being entitled. You pay for what you get. You want better go spend 2-3k and save your complaints. Did you know that $1000 now is like $300 dollars going back 20 years. What did you get for $300 20 years ago? Even than I paid thousands for a quality mountain bike. Go think about that. This is a toy at this price. People standards are all messed up. People need to get their priorities straight. You can buy this with less than 1 week paycheck. Before I had to actually save up for months. To just save a $1000.
😂dude don’t go there with me, i been through about 2 dozen ebikes, this was more or less like a comparison video and letting people know how shitty this E Bike was. Now going back to you comparing how much things cost I’ve been there and done that. I had $6000 carbon fiber mountain bikes back in the day. I probably had every Cannondale and specialized mountain bike built and road bikes. I know what things cost so shut your trap. Anytime you want to compare wallets let me know.

@Jebote Tito 🐍20% range should be low enough, then let charge up with that slow oem charger.
Most of my PEVs have two charge ports. I use just one charger. If I am in a hurry I use two slow chargers up to about 75% then unplug one & finish with one charger.🖖🤙

Seen people purchase this bike and rant and rave about it . They are not going to admit they bought crap . Then they spend hundreds on upgrades . Have to laugh .. They may as well purchased a better ebike for more money in the first place . Have to admit I bought an engine pro upgrade and that was broken straight out of the box .. A new motor and derailleur and the bike runs sweet ( under warranty) . TBH I wouldn't touch Engwe for a new bike
Yeah you’re 100% right even after all the upgrades I did on this bike I’m still getting rid of it. I just bought a better bike. I also have specialized and cannondale‘s. I just like to mess around and try different brands out from time to time.
I have this bike, the pedaling I'll agree with. It's literally made for just throttling (it should definitely be faster i picked this bike up to mod it later). Im curious if you charged the batterys before the 15mile run? The bike is actually comfortable for me, I'm only like 180lb 5'9 and comfortably can reach the ground. The seat is indeed mediocre and could easily have been a better styled seat, but I think the black seat is different because mine is softer. Back shock does need upgrade and the breaks if you go with a more powerful motor. So I mean for a starter racer style, it's not bad.. but depends on what you are looking for.
I also wana say sorry you got hit man, I hope as a fellow ebiker you are okay. I want to also add, I actually got 25 miles on assist 4, on one battery and it still had some juice left in it. But I also am lighter..so perhaps that helps the equation.

The seat ,bars, pedal angles are terrible, bottom bracket ( pedal bearing) is off of a kids bike, no torque, twin headlights are a joke..
I know crazy right, i did fix alot of those issues, but the worst thing is that stupid seat angle-the engineers responsible for that design should be fired🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️ there are so many choices out there for different Ebikes now they are coming out with 52 V 60 amp batteries -HUGE Range, just make sure they are named brand batteries. Otherwise there’s a chance of fire well, there’s a chance of fire with anything but at least get namebrand batteries.👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽⚡️
This bike has a 20amp controller, I wonder if I could put a 48v 30 amp controller in it... Also I wanna get this bike and buy 2 high quality 48v batteries at like 24ah each.

I have this bike and i dont have problems with speed or range, the Suspesion? For 1500$ it cloud be hardtail its great that its full sus

The bike look s good but it s not that good at all! The price its to high for what its offer 'better buy engwe pro upgrade2 for 100$200more and you are set in long run! I hate that in my country Romania max 250watts its permited 'and I feel its a roob the price of the bike!

Just got mine DO NOT BUY this bike is trash bike it terrible quality and came with battery mounted hanging off the side. No power very cheap quality. I have ridden plenty of other e bikes that were way better

engwe's older models are much better than this, i've tested the engine pro because a friend has it and that thing will do 30mph on the throttle with me as a 160 pound rider on it.

Is it me or does the wheelbase seem a little small , i think the M20 looks a little squashed up
Yes, and the frame is too tall, makes it look funny ☹️too top heavy
@@JerseyStyle7 You are right , it does look tall and top heavy lol , The angle of the forks should have brought the front wheel out more , prob feels like you could easily go over the handlebars if you broke too sharp :)
