      You're welcome. I'm a professional bassist, so things kinda transfer when picking up another instrument. I haven't been at all discipline on keyboard though. This might be good for you if you want something portable to take with you.

    Thank you for your review. Just yesterday I decided not to buy any keyboard as I already have a digital piano, an acoustic piano and at the work at the school a concert grand. But your review brought me back to think of buying one. I would like to have a keyboard with a good piano sound and with good portability to take with me to trips in train or car where I can practice. I restarted my piano practicing 3 years ago after a pause of 30 years. I assume Casio in general is good at portability while Yamaha is better in piano sound. I do not know of dance and rhytm music synthesizering, yet I agree I should learn that and not remain in classical music.

    • @stevekonbass

      I would agree with you with the Casio/Yamaha point. Price will also be a factor. If portability is a factor there's limitations.

    • @stevekonbass
      @stevekonbass  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Plug in some headphones and hear how it sounds so you can determine if it's the speakers or something else. The turning off thing while you use the drums isn't good. Check the warranty and see if they'll replace it.

    Many of the sounds can be EQ'd to sound better using an amp...a lighted display screen would be a big improvement....some of the sounds are ancient Casio sounds from 35 yrs, ago, but still useful (just sayin')....nice key action/feel...from my perspective,it's amazing what's available today in modern, even low priced kbrds compared to 50 yrs ago when something like this was impossible at any price...today's players are very fortunate!

  • @Itsyourboytee

    How good is the reverb? Cos id like it to echo quite a bit after pressing a key. Would you say it’s got a good reverb to it?

    • @stevekonbass
      @stevekonbass  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Well, reverb and echo are kinda 2 different things. For a keyboard at this price point, I'd say the choice and selection of reverb is pretty good. If you look at the 6:27 point of the video I go over reverbs. If you want it to ring out the Stadium reverb you'd probably like best.

    I was having a hard time deciding between getting a cheap quality 88-keys piano or a high quality 61-keys piano. I was afraid if I got the 61s one, I wouldn't be able to play some songs that require lower octaves (I know some, I guess)... but 88s honestly would feel too long in dimension. I don't really want something that long laying around my house lol.

  • @steve7015
    @steve7015 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Really enjoyed the review - Do you think this keyboard is good enough to learn to play piano on or would you suggest a step to one that has feel closer to a piano?
    Wondering if you think the time would be well spent or would it not really transfer well to a real piano? Any thoughts would be helpful. Thanks!

    • @stevekonbass
      @stevekonbass  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sure, someone could learn on this.To get a little closer to a piano feel there's the Williams Legato lll that has 88 keys and is touch sensitive. That's an entry level digital piano that goes for around $200. Then there's the Yamaha NP-32 that has 76 keys for around $300. A few steps above that is the Yamaha P-45 88 key weighted digital piano for about $500. But back to the question of learning, music theory is all the same no matter what you get. At the very least I'd suggest something that has touch sensitivity.

    Hi! Hope someone can help me, I have seen 90 reviews about keyboards, pianos, and not a lot of synthesizers. I would like an electric keybord/piano for composing buuuut when I hear the comparison of keyboards I found then sound a bit annoying, not as deep as I would like, but they don’t have the versatility of a keyboard, like the other instruments, and I think in composing directly would be good also having the resources there. Also i want to play life sometimes. The thing is: I have been wondering if should buy a sintetizer (even a foldable one) with sensitive keys, a speaker and a microphone better than a keyboard or a used electric piano. I want it for making my songs. I’m kind of a beginner with lots of imagination. Can somebody help? Thanks a lot.

    • @stevekonbass
      @stevekonbass  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sounds like you want 1 keyboard to cover all of your bases. You'll have to spend a little as you get what you pay for. $550 - $1000 would be the ballpark. If you have a Guitar Center near you go there and try a bunch out. They have a nice keyboard section with a bunch of different models on display. Korg and Yamaha would be my choice.

    • @stevekonbass

      That's a matter of opinion. If you hear a piano player live you'll hear a certain amount of natural reverb from the room, that's why they have reverb built into the keyboard, to try to replicate that.
