    some tips to choose good 'kampung durian':
    1) try to choose one that weighs lighter than its actual size. u can feel it when u lift the durian. it's a sign of thick pulps with smaller seeds.
    2) choose either oblong or oddly shaped durian with thick stalk. usually it has fleshier pulps & tastes better as well

    Putu bambu is called that because initially it's made by steaming the rice flour inside the bamboo. Bambu is another name for buluh (bamboo). Normally it's sold 5 or 7 per pack so you got too much sugar because you bought only one. You can choose not to eat the additional sugar (molasses) they add and it probably taste better.

    The one you see for cleaning, it's kinda common especially for cleaning wok especially stir fried. You can get in the market.
    The durian Kampung normally come 1st in the durian season before the other type of Durian come in. So better wait or you being cut especially on the price. You had not yet try the hybrid between kampung and the jungle one. That had a huge flesh and small seed. I only had 1 but never again.
    Is good to try others fruits, maybe you gonna fall in love others then durian.

    Putu Bambu is just rice paste on bamboo with the gula melaka, it's the same as Putu Mayyam or Putu Piring. Piriing meaning steam on a saucer/plate, Mayyam meaning to extrude through a press so that it forms like strands. More common in Indonesia Sumatra area.

    The usual putu bamboo I ate only have sugar inside. The brown sugar outside is usually ate with putu mayam. Maybe the seller like it extremely sweet. A lot from Kelantan like to eat sweet.

  • @aziznsp
    @aziznsp 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Before you eat Putu bamboo, you have to mix well brown sugar with putu. It will distribute the sweetness equally. So you won't get that super sweet taste out of it 😄
