Great to see Terry👍 I like Terrys channel. I dont think you will get a conversion out of him, I would be very surprised. Im late to the season this year -- going to pickup my Hanger(trialer) next weekend and hopefully I will be flying by the weekend after or at least at the fleid doing some engine runups/testing🤞. Cheers
Hi Patrick, that is great news of getting your machine. Sometimes even just having the engine running can be a good feeling. I think you're right, Terry is a stick and rudder man, but it was a pleasure to take home flying.
Hi Giles, we have commented on each others channels in the past when we were both paramotoring. Just wanted to say thanks for your NPPL journey series as I have binged watched them, including Sun & Fun and your latest videos. I sold my Paramotor a couple of years back and haven't been in the air since. However, I have just had my second lesson today in a flexwing with Neil and Deenethorpe and loving it. Thanks again for sharing your journey and hopefully we'll meet in person someday :)
Hi Rich, it is clearly a very very small world. Thank you for updating me on your progress and Neil is an amazing instructor and a great location. He is teaching a friend of mine as well there so if you bump into a chap call Martyn (with a beard and flies balloons) say hello, and don't believe anything he says about me 🤣🤣. Keep me posted on your journey and just remembered to enjoy it, not rush it.
@@GolfFoxtrot22 thankyou, I’ll ask after Martyn. And thanks for the advice on not rushing in. I’m definitely enjoying it but just excited about going solo, after only 2 lessons!! 🤣
Hi Giles. Not seen the back of your helmet before, love it. As soon as I saw him I recognised him. Short field landings or something. Watched quite a few of his videos.
Yay! Terry & Giles together! Lovely wee flight and very similar experience for Terry as my daughter (commercial pilot) had trying to get her head around the control inputs 🤣If the weather ever plays ball I hope to welcome Terry to East Fortune at some point!!
Great to see you guys flying together! 🥳👏🏼 Will you be entertaining a reciprocal arrangement with him & experiencing the luxury of short-sleeved shirt flying? 😄
My friend who is a stick and rudder pilot of many years related to me his first hang glider flight. He was coming in too fast to land so he pulled back on the bar….. Needless to say he ended up buying some parts for his friend’s glider as well as tending to his injuries. He seemed very intrigued when I described the Flylight planes to him though.
Hi Tom, it definitely shows how making sure the fundamentals of how the effects of controls makes sure the pilot can control the aircraft in times of stress.
Hang gliding, I loved flying the aeroelastic wing, performing much like a bird without mechanical control surfaces (I'm licensed in sailplanes and power also), but the ONE thing disturbing me was the pilot being flexibly connected, allowing the wing to dramatically "unload" and nose over in thermal conditions. Firsthand knowledge more than once, flying mountains and you can't ever forget it. Well, that and bouncing off the bottom surface a few times struggling to regain control from a tumble. These aircraft seemed to have solved this with rigid connection to the wing. I wish more popular here in the States.
There is definitely a huge following in Europe for flexwing flying. I've personally never flown a hang glider but I can see your reasoning for the rigid mounting.
I don't think i could adapt to flexwing flying. All my experience is three axis and I fear that in an emergency my control inputs would be the opposite to what is required. Your remark about a flxwing being a flying motorbike is exactly what I think about them.
I do agree that things are not natural. I spent my first 2 hours moving everything the wrong way, but then it just clicked. I don't have any issues going back to 3 axis either, it's quite strange how clever the brain is.
I totally understand why Terry would get CONFUSED by the Control Inputs of a Flexwing (Been there, Done that myself !!!!) I took way too long to get used to Flexwing inputs ( I only found it confusing on Take Off & Landing.......in the air I had time to correct any errors, but low down it could be fatal !!!!
I know what Terry means when thinks are not the same as your norm, I have been having time in the right seat and it feels strange with stick in left hand and throttle in the right and having a spinner off set to the left.
It's a wonderful journey of learning a new skill. As you said, even changing seats can be a significant change/adjustment along with the muscle memory.
Hello Giles! You just took viewing priority over Season 2 of “The Responder”. I won’t tell Martin Freeman.
Hi Tom, I'll take that compliment..how are you doing over the pond?
@@GolfFoxtrot22 Well, thank you.
Great to see Terry👍

Another very enjoyable video, Giles. It was great to see Terry in a flex with you and listening his thoughts afterwards 👌👍 👏👏
Hi Kev, it was great to take him up and see/hear his reactions. It's such a privilege to take people flying.
Great to see two guys just chatting about the different in aviation - awesome :-)
Hi Tony, it was fun to see his reaction. I think his view of the world changed, literally.
Great video Giles, bought back the memory of my first flight with Paul, it was just awesome. You guys are so lucky being able to do this.
Hi Anne, it's a wonderful privilege to share the skies with others.
Great video Giles, really enjoyed it, I think Terry did 👍👍👍
Hi Ged, yes I think Terry was quite pleased to experience real flying.

@richvincent6282 the excitement is only natural. There are lots of highs and lows along the way, but it's all worth it in the end.
@@GolfFoxtrot22 Thanks 👍
That was a great day Giles thank you so much.
I genuinely think you enjoyed the view more.

Terry makes some amazing videos. His channel has definitely taken off so to speak. It was great to share the flexwing experience with him.
Great advert for flex flying. 👍
I hope so. I think he liked the views more🤣.
Hello Paul.
Great video 😊
Glad you enjoyed it. Terry was a great passenger to take flying.

That would be good. We were hoping to that evening but the weather was turning quickly.
Only hanging by 1 bolt 🤣
Agreed, accessible flying 👍
At least it's a bolt you can check easily.
@@GolfFoxtrot22 exactly 💯
One strong benefit of trikes, everything is out in the open. Easy to inspect.

Would like to try and get pricing and availability of the nine
If you contact the office@microaviation.co.uk they will be able to give you more information. Are you looking for a demo flight as well?
Another one sees the light! Nearly......
Hi Carl, I think the unrestricted view was a selling point.
