Taylor (Jodi Lyn O'Keefe) fills Zack (Freddie Prinze Jr.) in on how she met the guy (Matthew Lillard) she's leaving him for.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
If Hollywood can shoehorn William Shakespeare into the teen-movie treatment with Romeo and Juliet, and Jane Austen with Clueless (from her novel, Emma), why not George Bernard Shaw? While his Pygmalion has been staged and filmed endless times, most famously as the musical My Fair Lady, here Shaw goes to high school. This time around, a Los Angeles' school's most popular guy Zack (Freddie Prinze, Jr.) loses his girlfriend Taylor (Jodi Lyn O'Keefe) to television star Brock Hudson (Scream's Matthew Lillard). Zack then vows to his friends that he can take any girl in school and turn her into the prom queen. With five weeks until the prom, his friends pick weird, art nerd Laney Boggs (Rachael Leigh Cook). Zack predictably gets more than he bargained for as he falls in love with his "creation." Eldon Hudson and Kieran Culkin, stars of The Mighty, play Laney's best friend and little brother, respectively. Robert Iscove, director of television's Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella, makes his big-screen debut.

I LUV THIS MOVIE !!!!
This movie scene is such a testament to show, don’t tell ScreenWriting. This could have been a dull scene with them sitting at the bench talking, or it could’ve been fully disembodied voiceover’s or it could have been completely skipped with Zach moaning to his buddies that he got dumped. The way the writer did this and brought them into the scene and avoided flashback was genius and added to the comedy. And keeping the scene in relays how bruised Zach is by Taylor’s uncaring attitude, which is what drives him to make the bet out of revenge against her. The bet was never about Laney.

Great movie, my first real teen film! I just love how nobody genuinely liked Taylor, they just put up with her because she was so popular and hot. The joke was on her the whole time.
And you see how her friends with geniuneness liked Laney once they got to know her.

I love Jodi- I really enjoyed Nash Bridges, and watch the H%I Monday all-day reruns. Such a funny program, and great to see that Don is coming up with a Nash Bridges tv movie. You gotta admire Don- never one to turn away from a challenge! And Cheech-Yay! I hope Jodi will be there, also. Such a gorgeous lady. And it would be nice to see the other co-stars, too, if they come back. Those who are still around.
