This had me chuckling. Have lived in Cairns my whole life. For the record, those black bugs were a bloody nightmare. Once in a blue moon event, perfect temp, rain etc. Caused them all to hatch and create hell. Everyone was shocked. The bats are flying paint strippers. If they shit/vomit on your car and you don't notice in time, congratulations - your paint is now fkd. The cost of travel is real. Just July this year, I decided to take my 7yo daughter and wife down to the theme parks in Brisbane for a long weekend away. It cost around $3000. Shock to my system. Can't be doing that very often. Bloody insane.
100 dollars for socks! 🧦🧦🧦The economy for feet people must be in shambles. Glad Sarah got out of it ok 🎉. I also just bought my own canis rex 2 weeks ago to go with the Christmas box.
Not going to lie, the story involving sock buying just reads like a parody. I don't mean to discredit the OP, horrible that they were creeped on if it happened. It just sounds so absurd that someone would have the balls (allegedly) to ask to buy someone's socks in public.
Hey nice to hear some love from our southern neighbours! Aussies and Kiwis gotta stick together. And yes travel in Australia is ridiculous, it's like we hate tourism or people going on holiday. It's cheaper to travel to a foreign country, a 1st world country at that, than it is to get a domestic flight within the same state. It's dumb.
Well Said North, Moral of THAT story is, "Don't let your mouth write checks your ass can't cover." Women have been raised a lot to believe that they can do whatever they want and the man they are with will just "Take care of it" for them. I am like you, I would NEVER let a guy just go off on a woman for no reason but if she pops off and asks for it with her bitchy attitude, nope, that is not my problem. On the plus side, at least Australia did not try to put him in one of their concentration camps they were thinking about setting up for the plague. That whole nightmare... don't get me started, here in the states we had it MUCH better than most of the rest of the World it seems. I am going to call the second story "Sara meets a servant of Slaanesh". I would like to say I don't believe the second story, but I have seen it firsthand. My wife had one of these people spark up a conversation with her in a restroom that was not all that dissimilar. She is usually very chill, but she was very shaken when she came out of the restroom. I think Sara did a perfect job getting out of the corner and just getting somewhere safe with other people around her.
Just for clarification sakes, It was a 4 day weekend (initially) and it's close to 4000kms. From welly to sydney its 2-300 return depending on your luck or timing.
I live in Australia. It's not that expensive now. The prices were inflated, probably by a few factors. 1. Using a travel agent to book flights instead of online. 2. Flights in the immediate post-covid era were inflated. Flights are much cheaper now. 3. I don't know the hotel he stayed in but that's insane prices. Maybe it's a Cairns thing. But I could get a hotel for a weekend for a lot less in another city. Yes our alcohol prices are insane. It's the government tax on alcohol. Its raised every year. Its quite a major gripe here. I dunno where he went for the $30 subway but he got robbed. Maybe it's a Cairns thing again. You can find a sandwich for Max $15 where I am.
The hotel was just over 300 a night, I stayed in cairns for 4 nights, and it was a nice hotel. Brisbane airport prices were bonkers for everything except the simcard I got, your phone charges are amazing compared to NZ.
@@drmwatson15 Might I suggest a backpacker's or shared accommodation? Get in fast enough and you can get in for less than half that. Even less if you share. I could suggest reasons for the flight prices, but I've never visited another country before.
@@drmwatson15 For the record I think North comparing your flight from NZ to tropical north queensland to his Scotland getaway is like comparing chalk and cheese.
Remember North, the conversion rate form £ to Aussie $ is 2:1 so as far as we are concerned it was £1500 for the weekend. Still overpriced but not as bad as it sounds.
If the second story had come from an unknown, i might have been sceptical. But it's from Sarah... For us, it's the most unbelievable thing we've heard in a while. For her, it was a Tuesday 😂 Worth noting i have seen first hand a guy offer a girl money to buy an item she was wearing. Admittedly he wasn't wearing a dress and it was in a bar rather than a hobby store, but he offered a girl £100 to buy the panties she had on at the time. This was about 20-25 years ago, so with inflation about £170-£185 ($215-$230US) now, and he had the cash in his hand ready... He didn't know the girl, and the mistake he made was to pick someone who worked there - he was gently escorted out of the premises by what passed for security staff in those days and politely informed his custom was no longer welcome _if you know what i mean_
Im Aussie. For the same price (almost), I can to go Fiji or Bali opposed to travelling a few hours locally for a week away. The hotel prices are insanely expensive here
Gotta say im normally a skeptical person and while i wont say i believe her 100% because I try to never do that unless I am given concrete proof, I will say that her story isn't outside the realms of possibility and I have seen similar situations go down. I have dealt with a lot of people who are victims of abuse or stalking and I also know people who were wrongly convicted (as their accuser admitted years later they lied for some petty revenge), so I have a pretty balanced outlook on it I think. Partly how I am not immediately dismissing her is her account of how she acted in response to this behavior. Normally when women make up this sort of thing they let slip some detail about how they acted that doesn't fit and try to justify it. Most people are not good liars and if you pay attention you can sniff them out even in a text story. Now she could be one of those few who are really good liars and I dont have any evidence to say she isnt lying but her story checks out in terms of behavior from all parties. I've seen that exact sort of situation in person. Thats why while I'm noncomittal in belief I won't say it didn't happen because it's very plausible.
Yeaaaaaaah, our economy is awful down under haha. Our governments focused on lining their pockets to actually run the place properly, so we constantly get the short straw on genuinely everything
So, this is something women do all the time. They experience something really distressing then say its fine and don't report it. I'm told its because "no one takes women seriously" but honestly thats no excuse to do nothing in my opinion.
That second story almost sounds like a parody, with all the bad stereotype boxes it ticks. Even then, being an LGBT person means I've seen a few people like this, it's still plausible. Trans or not though, anyone willing to behave like that's gotta have some serious mental issues going on.
I have come across alot... Of these people 10, years ago and before maybe one or two my whole life (I am 33 now) but the last handful of years seen and come across dozens of these people. They are creepy and most clearly aren't trans and get off on it. I have known two trans people my whole life they were fine normal people who wanted to get on like everyone else.
@@yagsipcc287 Yeah no for sure, I know plenty of trans people who are normal, and yet there's still these types who act like Chris Chan. For some absurd reason, there's a sentiment of optics not mattering among trans people, I've never understood it. Especially given the existence of people like the one in the story, or Chris.
@@Empty_Elegy they get attacked for it is why people don't speak out. There is alot of people with fetish's and do things to protect themselves from criticism is a large part of it. There are guys who get off from dressing like women I am 99% sure the story in the video is just that
"Can I have your socks"

Ah, I see her problem, she shouldn't have held it up like a bunch of papers, she should have held it up like what it was, a talisman of the Emperor.
That temperature thing reminds me of when I went traveling in Japan.
Came out of the airport and got hit with 40c and near 100% humidity

Most sane slannesh enjoyer.
North? Bloke flew in from another country through two states, in each of which you could lose Scotland and never find it again.

100 for socks!! as creepy as that is I would’ve been tempted to say pay for my Knight and you can have my socks😂😂😂
yep, I am Australian, everything in this country is hideously expensive

They give you bad vibes straight off the bat for a reason.
Hey North, Aussie here. Can confirm everything is ridiculously expensive down under
Right that totally happened.
I'm getting heart palpitations from the last story, and not for the usual reasons.
28° at 10pm? That's rather pleasant. Try 2.5 months with it never dropping below 34°. The joys of living in the American desert southwest.
