I would just take them all back regardless of how long it would take. Gang wars were one of my favorite features of this game. It was a great way to get money and ammo for weapons
@@DMFArranhado Some play throughs it wouldn't take long to get the rival gang to spawn while others it could take awhile. I learned some tricks though to make it easier to get a gang war going in the smaller zones. One trick I used was leaving the area around the small zone untouched. Then I'd stand directly in the smaller zone which would increase the likelihood of a rival gang spawning in the area since the surrounding areas were still under rival gang control. As long as you kill them while standing in the smaller zone it would set off the gang war in that zone. Another trick I used, though this one could be a bit more difficult and time consuming, was luring rival gangs from other areas into the small zone before killing them. I'd find a group of 3 or 4 and attack them. Then I'd run a little bit then wait for them to catch up and then run again. Just like that so on and so forth until I got back to the small zone. It took longer but it got the job done.

If you’re having trouble taking over hoods. Try baiting the ballas/vagos into chasing you into the enemy hood. Since sometimes they spawn just outside the zone as to not let you easily start gang war
The gang wars were my favorite part. It allowed, and made, players to actually be strategic in the urban environment and think for themselves as opposed to being guided by the plot hand.
I never understood the Aztecas gang. Their leader is best friends with CJ in the story line but when you see see them on the streets their attitude is completely different.
It's just the simple fact that they're from a RIVAL gang. If you recall in that one mission Cezars homeboy has beef with CJ, Cezar calms him down,but he still doesn't like CJ. Sometimes you can go through Aztec hoods with no problems, other times it's on ON SIGHT just like with the other rivals gangs in the game

Yeah that's what confused me as well, like, why even cheat? just start playing from the point where CJ comes back to LS after the exile and you'll immediately see what happens when Grove Street loses control of all territory XD Honestly kinda disappointed in the video, I thought this would at least be some interesting type of mystery hoax thing, but nah, he spent 10 minutes doing something he could have achieved by just loading a savegame from after the exile, and then basically just said "nothing happens" which pretty much everyone probably knew already.
I remember getting a mod called "gta sa save game editor", it had the ability to edit gang presence in any region of the map. Did you know the other cities' gangs can participate in turf wars too? They even have their own color. I've made the area around the dam and CJ's desert airbase a mafia zone, and it became grey on the map with mafia members spawning here and there.
You can gain territories without any mod by glitching them by flying out of the normal boundaries of the map or using the "Satchels glitch". I have a video of one on my channel. It takes very long and is a tedious process but it's the only way to do it without cheats/mods or file editing.
Yeah the other gang members were originally going to have missions and turf wars too but Rockstar removed it last minute, I always wondered why there were gangs in the other cities but they never did anything. Also, Grove Street was originally named Orange Grove Families and their colors were orange instead of green, you can still see the OGF spray tags in the city.

Flying "out of the map" in a jet was a way to hack the distance travelled. I vaguely remember somebody got a Mafia territory to appear without doing anything special (as far as he could remember), and that led to the experimenting.
Ballas and vargos won’t fight each other because they’re in Tenpennys drug circle together. You have to kill a lot of each of them in the crack palace on the final mission of the game

Their basic gang member npcs still fight on the streets sometimes, because the game doesn't make distinction for allied gangs. Each gang is always treating their own members friendly and memebers of all other gangs hostile. The only times when this changes is when the script of a mission overrides this standard behavior.
Well, i encountered a couple of Times when legit Grove Street Members were fighting each other when one accidentaly got hit by another. But that's what i love about San Andreas: Everything.... and i mean EVERYTHING goes in this game. xD
So if you were to do this “naturally” (without cheats) Grove street and surrounding areas become impossible to visit without full armor and health. You will die. The games AI becomes extremely strong. It is literally like driving into a war zone. I feel it was R*s attempt at a hoard mode. The reason I know this, after completing a majority of the game and working in the dessert and the casinos, you have to visit home. Well I said no to all gang activity and when I came back home I died so much. So I had to get the territory’s back little by little in order to complete the game. Cj couldn’t visit mama’s house until he regained control. When I mean regain control, over 90% of territory was ballas. When he does, it’s basically the end of the games story. San Andreas is a massive game. And for the early 2000’s, it is a lot for a 14/15 year old.lol
I actually know what you’re talking about; there’s two settings for enemies accuracy, one for walking around or on a bike and another one while driving in a car. It’s supposed to switch between the two but sometimes it glitched where the car setting was on when you were walking around which the other guys super accurate. Especially since gangs carry smgs and AK47 you are going to feel it lol

Apparently it is possible to fully lose a territory normally, but you pretty much have to not drive them out of your territory when they attack. It enters a grey-ish state after losing a defense/leaving an attack unchecked, then depending on influence, it slowly goes from grey-ish green to grey, to grey-ish purple/yellow, as you leave attacks unchecked/lose defenses. Apparently, letting them go ham on a territory for long enough lets them fully retake it. Haven't been able to test it myself.
one of the first things i learned in gang war was that the war you start depends on the zone, not the gang you kill to start it. love the idea of having the whole map as a war zone, tho. and that bit at the end is priceless!

@Cao Dương Trung Kiên I dont know, personally I love San Andreas because of nostalgia and I think it’s rock star’s best game along with gta 4 and rdr 1, I thought rdr 2 had too many plot holes to be a great prequel, but as a game itself I enjoyed it, still prefer RDR 1 though, feels more like an authentic western to me.
A thing to note about gang members appearing on other gangs' turfs - when spawning the gang NPCs, whether in cars, or on foot, the game only cares about CJs position. Meaning if CJ is on a balla turf, only Ballas will spawn around, regardless of who owns any of the turfs they're spawning on. That means that if CJ stands in Varrio territory that is near a Ballas territory, Varrio members will likely also spawn in the Ballas territory. If you then walk there, you will see Varrio in Ballas territory. It's purely a side effect of the mechanic handling it, it has no bearing on any lore.
A core memory attached to this game and even after so long there's ton of things I still come around that exsist in the game . Loved it impressive video

You see, by the time CJ moved back to LS his hood mentality is gone further evidence shows that he persuade Sweet to leave the gang life. While Sweet himself safe to say is mark ass busta, who do the work cleaning ballas and dope dealer ? CJ of course. Meanwhile the truest OG that GSF ever had was Ryder but we all knew Rockstar decided he's the villain in the game after switching sides with Ballas and later died. With no clear and better leader, GSF soon could fall into internal conflict just like how Temple Drive and Seville Boulevard split at the start of the game
I don't know if you implied that, but if you fly around sometimes a map marker called "San Andreas" appears where no smaller one exists. If you provoke a gang war there, you can probably capture the whole map.

Even if there are a bunch of refrences to san andreas and there is someone saying "grove street used to be families turf" Honestly i think they just split the universes just so they could change up the existing cities without having to make an excuse as to why the cities are different

I know this is a 2 years old comment and the replies are also pretty old, but I think that even if rockstar didn't divide 3D and HD universes, no game would ever come close to GTA San Andreas. A proper remaster (not one made by "hard-working professionals" we have now) with maybe some unused stuff added would be great, but I doubt any game would've been able to recreate GTA SA's energy and vibe.
@@reisakumaphd 2 years later, San Andreas is still the best GTA. Most games these days want to be ultra realistic and have characters based on real people and events. Which I believe is why modern games lack the same energy and vibe.
Just one thing, during the first missions of bad land I was wandering what happened to gsf in los Santos since you can't see your territory on the map. I checked that and I found that all the city was under control of ballas vagos... no gsf.
@@flyingdragon6275 All the Families gang members and their territory vanish from the map until you reclaim Grove Street with Sweet. Even if you use cheats to spawn them in (like with the "All Gangs" cheat) you can't recruit them or anything. The only time you can actually see a Families NPC during the San Fierro/Lan Venturas part of the story is in the Drug Courier missions cuz the guy carrying the drugs is always a Families member (so presumably some of the ones who didn't go into hiding started working for Smoke and Ryder).
I don’t try to take over everything the first try, just enough to advance the main mission storyline (since you lose it all anyway). After returning to Los Santos and getting Sweet out of prison, I take over ALL of the gang territory 100%. I try to accomplish this before starting the riots, because it’s very dangerous to try to fight the rival gangs with cars catching fire and exploding in the streets. It helps to try to complete all 100 of the graffiti tags, to unlock free weapons in the Johnson house.

Yeah right bro, not only ballas or vagos, we can attack astecas in ballas territory to fight with ballas, you know sometimes their territory are to small till its so difficult to find some gang member, so i just stand in their territory and use sniper rifle to shoot any rival gang outside the territory, amd the war begin
Gang wars were such a cool element to the game. Although it hardly affected the storyline i'd always defend a territory whatever i was on my way to do !
GTA SA is still my favorite in the franchise. So many small details that lead to much larger points in the game. Sure it doesn't have the weapon mechanics and details of 5, but it's the title I go back to the most. The mission The Green Sabre still chokes this man up.
The other way to do this was the map glitch. It was flying or boating off shore for about an hour and then respawning. The map shows territory in other cities.
@@LuisMendoza-ch7dd Appearantly when you go far enough into the infinite waters it starts overwriting values in the game code related to territories on the map, and will mistake a random san fierro or las venturas place for a los santos one, or mix up places even within los santos, and because of that will turn some of the areas even in san fierro or las venturas into vagos or ballas territory. At least that's how i understood it.
Taking of the entire city area is not a glitch. They are just zones. In game, there are too much zones, works for setting gang turfs or display zone text

I am not sure how the areas work, but it looks like there are several values in that. "owner" and an array. While you can "own" an area, its values per gang differ. It's only the most dominant gang (in values) is set to the "owner" of that area, and that defines the color for that area. Since the gangs are an array, you can have Vagos spawn in areas they wouldn't belong to, as long their value is not zero. For that odd area in the water, this one is truely odd. Either that one is a parent area for all the sub-areas or bigger displayed on the map, then it should be. It even causes the colored gangmaps to overlap, but the whole thing turns a war zone as seen in the vid. the question is, what happens in the subareas, if the parent area is GSF? Gang war instant win, if you provoke a gang war there?
Alright, an interesting comment for once. Indeed, those "blocks" of neighbourhood represent the entire city. Los Santos, San Fierro,... There is also one for the entire state (San Andreas)
6:40 that's not a glitch exactly, you can provoke a gang war if you kill *ANY* enemy gang members while they're inside the designated coordinates of the turfs because of them having the same ped script. It was probably an oversight by R*
Yeah right bro, but they dont need to be inside the territory, you can use sniper rifle to shoot a gang member outside the territory, and the war will start on where you stand, i use this trick to take over small territory where it so difficult to find any gang member because its too small, so i just use sniper rifle and shoot to any rival gang outside territory, including astecaz

2:20 if you travel fast enough through territories the game won`t manage to spawn correct gang members so they might spawn in the neighboring area, in this case you probably came to Idlewood from Little Mexico and Aztecas have territory there
You can take over cities because there is some places in the map called los santos , san fierro and Las Venturas they allow you to take over the whole city
If you use the save editor, you can see where all the territories are and how they look and notice a bunch overlap, mainly due to not being coded to all be gang territories and have something to do with ped group spawns
5:25 no lie, I once did the shooting range. And I struggled for a good hour so trying to complete So tell me why I finally completed it. And then, as soon as I walked outside, a plane crashes into me and blows me up. Normally this wouldn't be a problem, but the issue was I was very OCD about my death stats back then.
I completely annexed the Vagos, I don’t have to worry about them attacking my turfs now but my big problem Is that It’s so hard to provoke a gang war on west territories because Ballas rarely spawn there.
I recently wanted to go back and play it again only to find out that my ps2 controller seem to have died over the years and that i had to downgrade and modify the steam version of the game to get back a nicely playable version again
If you never played this with all the chaotic cheat codes your crazy I even increased cpu car speed and added nos to all those angry,rioting pedestrians……complete insanity
I remember when there was a bug, where if you travelled far away enough from the map, gang territories would appear anywhere. This would also be caused by the Saint Mark's Bistro mission (you fly to liberty city to kill a forelli) where you had to use a plane to reach a faraway checkpoint, I remember seeing a vagos territory in the middle of Bone County and I was like "what???"
GTA San Andreas, the greatest game the world has ever seen. True classic and nothing can beat that. Best game in the world. May there be plenty games like this for it is peak of gaming.

A thing to note about gang members appearing on other gangs' turfs - when spawning the gang NPCs, whether in cars, or on foot, the game only cares about CJs position. Meaning if CJ is on a balla turf, only Ballas will spawn around, regardless of who owns any of the turfs they're spawning on. That means that if CJ stands in Varrio territory that is near a Ballas territory, Varrio members will likely also spawn in the Ballas territory. If you then walk there, you will see Varrio in Ballas territory. It's purely a side effect of the mechanic handling it, it has no bearing on any lore.

You see, by the time CJ moved back to LS his hood mentality is gone further evidence shows that he persuade Sweet to leave the gang life. While Sweet himself safe to say is mark ass busta, who do the work cleaning ballas and dope dealer ? CJ of course. Meanwhile the truest OG that GSF ever had was Ryder but we all knew Rockstar decided he's the villain in the game after switching sides with Ballas and later died. With no clear and better leader, GSF soon could fall into internal conflict just like how Temple Drive and Seville Boulevard split at the start of the game
I don't know if you implied that, but if you fly around sometimes a map marker called "San Andreas" appears where no smaller one exists. If you provoke a gang war there, you can probably capture the whole map.

I know this is a 2 years old comment and the replies are also pretty old, but I think that even if rockstar didn't divide 3D and HD universes, no game would ever come close to GTA San Andreas. A proper remaster (not one made by "hard-working professionals" we have now) with maybe some unused stuff added would be great, but I doubt any game would've been able to recreate GTA SA's energy and vibe.

Just one thing, during the first missions of bad land I was wandering what happened to gsf in los Santos since you can't see your territory on the map. I checked that and I found that all the city was under control of ballas vagos... no gsf.
I think Grove street was still in GSF control
(Even that is lost now in gta 5 (2013))
@@flyingdragon6275 All the Families gang members and their territory vanish from the map until you reclaim Grove Street with Sweet. Even if you use cheats to spawn them in (like with the "All Gangs" cheat) you can't recruit them or anything.
The only time you can actually see a Families NPC during the San Fierro/Lan Venturas part of the story is in the Drug Courier missions cuz the guy carrying the drugs is always a Families member (so presumably some of the ones who didn't go into hiding started working for Smoke and Ryder).

Some of u guys dont seem to understand that S A and 5 are set in different universes.
I don’t try to take over everything the first try, just enough to advance the main mission storyline (since you lose it all anyway). After returning to Los Santos and getting Sweet out of prison, I take over ALL of the gang territory 100%.
I try to accomplish this before starting the riots, because it’s very dangerous to try to fight the rival gangs with cars catching fire and exploding in the streets. It helps to try to complete all 100 of the graffiti tags, to unlock free weapons in the Johnson house.

Yeah right bro, not only ballas or vagos, we can attack astecas in ballas territory to fight with ballas, you know sometimes their territory are to small till its so difficult to find some gang member, so i just stand in their territory and use sniper rifle to shoot any rival gang outside the territory, amd the war begin
The whole territory placement seems to be ill thought out. So many tiny zones that don't make any sense.

GTA SA is still my favorite in the franchise. So many small details that lead to much larger points in the game. Sure it doesn't have the weapon mechanics and details of 5, but it's the title I go back to the most. The mission The Green Sabre still chokes this man up.

The other way to do this was the map glitch. It was flying or boating off shore for about an hour and then respawning. The map shows territory in other cities.

@@LuisMendoza-ch7dd Appearantly when you go far enough into the infinite waters it starts overwriting values in the game code related to territories on the map, and will mistake a random san fierro or las venturas place for a los santos one, or mix up places even within los santos, and because of that will turn some of the areas even in san fierro or las venturas into vagos or ballas territory. At least that's how i understood it.
Taking of the entire city area is not a glitch. They are just zones. In game, there are too much zones, works for setting gang turfs or display zone text

I am not sure how the areas work, but it looks like there are several values in that.
"owner" and an array. While you can "own" an area, its values per gang differ. It's only the most dominant gang (in values) is set to the "owner" of that area, and that defines the color for that area. Since the gangs are an array, you can have Vagos spawn in areas they wouldn't belong to, as long their value is not zero.
For that odd area in the water, this one is truely odd. Either that one is a parent area for all the sub-areas or bigger displayed on the map, then it should be. It even causes the colored gangmaps to overlap, but the whole thing turns a war zone as seen in the vid.
the question is, what happens in the subareas, if the parent area is GSF? Gang war instant win, if you provoke a gang war there?

6:40 that's not a glitch exactly, you can provoke a gang war if you kill *ANY* enemy gang members while they're inside the designated coordinates of the turfs because of them having the same ped script. It was probably an oversight by R*
Yeah right bro, but they dont need to be inside the territory, you can use sniper rifle to shoot a gang member outside the territory, and the war will start on where you stand, i use this trick to take over small territory where it so difficult to find any gang member because its too small, so i just use sniper rifle and shoot to any rival gang outside territory, including astecaz

2:20 if you travel fast enough through territories the game won`t manage to spawn correct gang members so they might spawn in the neighboring area, in this case you probably came to Idlewood from Little Mexico and Aztecas have territory there

The turf war at the beginning of the game in my personal opinion was the only fun part of the entire San Andreas game.

You can take over cities because there is some places in the map called los santos , san fierro and Las Venturas they allow you to take over the whole city

If you use the save editor, you can see where all the territories are and how they look and notice a bunch overlap, mainly due to not being coded to all be gang territories and have something to do with ped group spawns

I remember when there was a bug, where if you travelled far away enough from the map, gang territories would appear anywhere. This would also be caused by the Saint Mark's Bistro mission (you fly to liberty city to kill a forelli) where you had to use a plane to reach a faraway checkpoint, I remember seeing a vagos territory in the middle of Bone County and I was like "what???"
