- InvMark is now fully ready and compatible with Inventor 2024, that's why I'm making this video, the other reason was thrown in to give it an enticing title and premise. Sorry not sorry. I would do a full What's New video but frankly right now I need to spend my time doing more productive things! Maybe later though, depends.

Some sweet InvMark improvements!! It would be awesome to have a Fusion 360 version of this... which also benchmarks the CAM
This was something I thought about, but there's absolutely categorically no way I would go through a project like this again unless I could monetise the end result in some way! InvMark consumed my life for nearly 2 years in development so I just can't justify doing that again unless it could be commercialised in some way, and that's a difficult thing to do with benchmark tools!
Still waiting for Autodesk to add aligned dimension option for Break Views. They ‘accepted’ this request due to popular demand several years ago in idea station but never implemented it.

Love the benchmark on Inventor 2024! I ran it on my computer and it works great but it won’t capture what SSD I have. Is there a way to fix that? I also got a new high score on multi core but it never posted the total new score on the leaderboard. Does it have to go through validation first?

What do the points in InvMark represent? What are the units? For example, if a PC gets 50013/81289 what does it mean?
There's no logical unit for a benchmark score, so it's an arbitrary value which only means something in context to other scores, which then defines the entire purpose of benchmarking as by nature showing the performance of anything is only meaningful when compared to something else. So if someone scores 50013, but the highest score is 81289, then it means that score is quite far behind what is achievable on current hardware. I guess you could then work out percentage comparisons but that's pretty much it.
DLed Invmark, my inventor crashes when doing the modeling test at the spiral extrusion near the beginning. Is my comp rubbish?
It shouldn't matter how bad the PC is, that's the point of the test, it should still finish it regardless of how long it takes. We create a log file in c:\temp\logs called "benchmark.log" which isn't exactly user friendly to read, but it might be worth looking in that to see if there's anything written at the end that might give a clue. I haven't seen it crash at that point before though. Also check to see if you have any custom addins loaded into Inventor, we unload most of them for the test but can't cater for absolutely everything.
INVENTOR 23 is very impressive already anyways.

Neil, an question unrelated to this video... Is there any perpetual licensing available for Inventor anymore? I understood that Autodesk ended it, but found a company that is selling them and they say its still legal. I'm suspicious that this is not a legit reseller and piracy may be involved, but they seem to have a logical explanation that it is still allowed by Autodesk. Do you have any insight?
100% cannot be legit. They just aren't for sale and haven't been for years, and it's not legit to sell second hand. What's the company?
@@Neil3D Thank you Neil. Question about Invmark website, I would like to acquire full specs for some of the top scoring systems, to check pricing and possibly purchase or build a replicated system. Is there any way to gain that info, or make contact with top scorers? Right now #1 is brad.medlin with a score of 84717. But any of the top scorers that are custom built, I would like to research building my own pc to match.
God I dont like their new installer. I want the old one back. I wonder if they now enforce this annoying Genuine service.
the new installer as in the network deployment thing or the regular normal installer?
Inv 2024 has to be one of the most pointless releases to date. Adding '24' to all the menus probably took them longer to implement than anything else.
I like the part where they made a dark theme 3-4 years ago but most of the dialog boxes and nested windows are still retina burning white, and in 4K half the dialog buttons don't scale up, and how GPU ray tracing is still labelled as "preview" after being in the full product for the second year now.
Maybe there is some good stuff in 2024 though, I'll get around to looking into it fully at some point
@@Neil3D the only thing I like is the gpu Ray tracing. Just makes it easier to justify/cope with the money I spent on a rtx4090 😅
To be fair.... They've been doing more things in their point releases lately. Maybe they're just out of sync with the rest of Autodesk 😂
I had a 4090 in the basket a few weeks ago ready to pull the trigger at checkout... bottled it at the last minute! I'm back on a desktop with a RTXA5000, same quantity of VRAM as a 4090, much slower but I'm not pushing GPU limits so wouldnt see any return on buying one. Would be nice to have one but can't justify the current prices!
@@Neil3D I'll be daily driving Inv 2024 in June or so, after the first major patch - I get to be the test bunny for a bit and then my company upgrades. I don't pay for the license out of out my pocket. It's a tool I use that gets the job done and I get paid for it :). Still, as someone who uses this program 40+ hours per week I wish we would start getting some meaningful improvements, not unless gimmicks that hardly anyone uses, like GPU ray tracing.
Would I pay over 3k CAD sub for my personal use? Hell no.
