- The updated GLA 35 AMG is here for 2024 and Mercedes sent me this example, loaded up to $67,900 for some testing! Coming in at $56,450 base, the GLA35 offers a punchy powertrain, dynamic drive modes, and sportier looks (and underpinnings). Highs:
+ The 8 Speed DCT offers rapid shifts
+ The new 48v system and starter generator are fantastic when not driving like a hooligan to improve efficiency. (Or add 13HP for boost moments)
+ The looks, once adding the AMG night packages, are rather good, sporty, and well, HOT hatchback like (sorry Mercedes)
Lows:
- The suspension is VERY stiff, even in comfort mode, making daily commutes a bit rough; and there still is some body motions in corners that reveal the Front biased chassis.
- The 8-speed DCT shows it’s colors in stop/go traffic, but that’s a industry wide DCT trait
- Once adding in pricy options, the competition and cross shopping competitors look pleasing.

Hmm I live in Cyprus our roads are not and the best , I drive a c250cdi year 2012 AMG line and I feel the bumps on road like crazy I guess gla35 will be a nightmare and worse driving comfort ...that video really helps . the point no available for test drive and is only by order .
I don’t have back problems but if I drove this everyday in sport + suspension I would 😅
Comfort is much much better but still stiffer than the normal GLA

After watching few times your video I finally got the big decision and I order it but with 19" rims .Production will be on July factory confirms and October it will come in Cyprus . Only by order in Mercedes store in Cyprus . Thanks

Your reviews are so thorough and detailed, but it is such a shame that these cars are clocking almost $70,000 for something that would depreciate so fast and the driver will forget once the lease ends. For that kind of money, it’s important to have rear climate controls and creature comforts (armrest and real cupholders), a little more space, and a little more attention to detail when it comes to Value for the Money. Mercedes continues to cheapen their interiors and the public is starting to notice. I will be hard-pressed to purchase this over something like a Volvo XC60 PHEV or even an Alfa. These cars are WAY too pricey for what is being offered.
