Another helpful video to remind us to practice every day. The idea of using tracing paper to help getting the " swing " of the stroke was something I never thought to do. I am 76, started making quill pens when 11. Had inky fingers since then. It is a badge of honor. Never leave the house without at least 3 fountain pens. I love the beautiful music you play.

You are so right! I deal with byzantine calligraphy for many years which have different ethics but your advice on calligraphy are absolutely valid, I think, in every case.

Hi! I started practicing foundational calligraphy a couple of years ago. I am currently focusing on Carolingian. At the same time, I'm attending to several courses on Paleography. I found your channel looking for videos about calligraphy. Greetings from Madrid, Spain!

Practice Practice Practice. Muscle memory is key. I've just come across your videos. Probably because l have been trying to find information or tutorial on insular Irish, ie Book of Kells. There is very little out there on the process. Could you suggest something? Thanks in advance

I have never found a fountain pen set with stub a nib under 1.0mm except for the manuscript calligraphy set! with nice crisp lines too! Do you know of any other brands that have small stubs like that?

Have you read Ross King’s recent book “The Bookseller of Florence”? He refers to a “new” style of “antique lettering” that Vespasiano, the bookseller, favored. Do you have any interest in this style and any tutorials or other resources you would recommend to learn more about that? Thank you for your help.
