Cool sir/mam ( sorry I’m not sure which one you are). I’m a young American girl that absolutely love history. I mostly have to learn this amazing world history of my own as my public school and others don’t teach us much history so if there’s anything else you could teach me I’d be ever so thankful and grateful. As a lifelong native Chattanoogan, Little Debbie has always been apart of our lives. Just like Double Cola and Moonpies, Little Debbie is found in almost every pantry, Store, and shop in the Tennessee Valley. Down the road from the Corporate Office of McKee foods, is the Little Debbie Store, where their boxes of cakes are discounted. It's worth a stop if you're ever in Collegedale, TN.

Little Debbie was a big part of my life as a child growing up in the Chattanooga area in the 1960s. I enjoyed going on school field trips to the factory in Collegedale where every child went away with a snack cake. Little Debbie was a local supporter of school and civic events. Several times my class or Cub Scout troup was on the Bob Brandy Show on ABC Channel 9. Little Debbie (McKee Bakery) was a sponsor and Little Debbie treats were regularly given as prizes. I won an entire box of Oatmeal Creme Pies by giving the closest guess to "How far is it from Chattanooga to ____________?" Decades later, I still enjoy the occasional Little Debbie snack, but can't consume them as frequently as I could as a child. This video brought back great memories. Thank you.

I never got "desserts" with my bag lunches when I attended grade school in the 1960's. Mom had to economize and make sure we kids got no-nonsense nutrition. I made up for this later - I discovered Little Debbie snacks for the first time while putting myself through college. I bought the oatmeal cream pies and nutty bars for snacking on while I studied. Still buy them occasionally. They are good!

I live in the chattanooga area. I used to work at a company called reliable heating and air. We have done work in Debbie's house she is definitely still alive to this day. She also works at the little Debbie company as one of the line managers. She is a simple ole country girl who lives in a simple house and loves horses. Her grandfather started the business when she was a little girl, and when it became real popular, he decided to use her picture as his advertisement, which is now little Debbie. Oh, and by the way, she stayed away from the Debbie cakes because she is in good shape. And when we were in her house she never once offered us one cake😂. This video is correct!

McKee was one of the best companies to drive a truck for, for a long time. They paid very well. The drivers were home every weekend. And if they didn't make it home before sundown Friday night, they had to shut the truck down, check into a motel, and could not get back into the truck until after sundown Saturday night. No smoking was allowed in the trucks, and smokers need not apply. And the factories are located close to Seventh-day Advestist schools and colleges to provide work for the students to pay their school costs.

Both of my parents worked at Mckee Foods in the late 70’s/early 80’s. My mom was in college next door at Southern Adventist University (known as Southern Missionary College back then) while my dad was a college dropout. Mom was on the assembly line and dad drove a forklift in the warehouse. My dad got to meet Debbie herself and seems to have had a crush on her (by the way he talks about her) back then. Though people often mistook them for siblings due to both of them being about the same age with fiery red hair 😂.
Apparently they and most employees were banned from the room that contained the machine that rolled the Swiss Cake Rolls because it was (and maybe still is) a trade secret. All competing products were rolled by hand at the time so the machine apparently saved Little Debbie a lot of money back in the day.
