The main morale of this short film is that addiction to social media makes everyone like a zombie and it spreads like hell!

I believe the parasite is representative of the way social media gets into our heads and makes us act like complete monsters, people unlike our authentic selves, just so someone we don't even know will like us (pictures/posts). (?)

I think the reason she didn’t notice the creature growing on the nape of her neck is because the creature begins to numb a host’s mind to it’s presence while also making sure the host conceals it the best they can.
Also, this film is definitely meant to be a metaphor for both how social media can end up causing us to hurt ourselves if we end up getting so badly obsessed that it governs our lives

Hard to believe the creature wasn't noticeable but then again she couldn't see what she really looked like so it's conceivable her perception was skewed. The ending was satisfying since I really can't feel sorry for a bunch of attention seeking hoards aka influencers; whom if we weren't living in our current time would just watch themselves in the mirror all day. Social media is the steroid narcissist love, pathetic but true.
I had 2k people following me and I thought that made me, I wouldn’t post explicit pics or anything just me and my body & mostly face pics . But I found myself checking the pics for likes & comments, if my pics didn’t have over 1000 likes I’d feel ugly? Deleting my instagram and other socials was the best idea I ever had
I have to be honest, the acting is...subpar. It's a really interesting idea though.

The creature on her back changed her into a kind of zombie and in the climax, there follows a confrontation with her 'rival' and then...(I won't give the end away. A beautiful horror short. Loved it. No, no, the "thing" changed her perception of herself. It was invisible to her, and it was making her live in such a way to stay hidden.
She literally couldn't tell she was turning into a zombie. If she couldn't feel and see the warts, the missing teeth and fingernails, the greying skin, why the hell would she feel the bug?

The main character loss like the BEFORE pic for Eugenia Clooney!!! I mean that in the most body positive, nicest way possible for the main character. She legit looks like what Eugenia Clooney could and should look like, if she had even ONE halfway decent person in her life that genuinely cared if she lives or dies. This beautiful young woman is very thin and petite... however, she looks very healthy for her body type. So when I say she looks like the before pic, i mean she looks like Eugenia BEFORE she started playing dig dong ditch on death door step, by starving herself.. when she healthy and perfect... before her mother started cheering on her own daughters slow su*c*de while the whole world watches!!!
