Had an Arakawa around 06 from my brother's friend that he sponsored. I LOVED that board I don't remember anything about it other than it was a 6'0 squash. It would go good in firing slabs, double overhead makaha, even mushy beach breaks. Stopped surfing for about 15 years and just got back in, I've been getting pangs but always wanted to go to the arakawa factory and ask about it since I don't seen my brothers friend too often anymore.
That 2019 sunset win for Jack should have an asterisk next to it! Jack wasn’t called on a clear interference on Zeke Lau. A wave Zeke was in a barrel and coming out of! Jacks an amazing surfer and friend of Zeke’s. But just wanted to mentioned because it changed the complexion of the heat. Zeke broke his board, had to paddle in the get his back up and then ended up with last priority in the heat. He still surfed to a second place finish! Unfortunately he could have went down in Sunset history as a 3 time winner of the event. First time I noticed the political side of the WSL. Sunny Garcia always talked about it, but I didn’t want to believe it. If you watch events now, you notice it. The WSL creates their own narrative each season. So unfortunate, that’s why viewership is so low! If a sport result relies on someone’s opinion, you’re screwed.

Hey! I love the content. I enjoy how you jumped right into the action instead of having a ten minute bio. You’re becoming a better interviewer!
