That's the nature of a lot of UK sketch shows, present a ludicrous situation, for what it is, then skip straight to another sketch, without having to explain consequences, narratively. It is what it is.

Geordies are basically Scottish. Their slang and dialect is very very similar to what you find in south east Scotland for obvious reasons. The only real difference is the cadence of the accent.
