I've had to come back and rewatch so many times. 20th Century such a beautiful train and your layout an awesome place to show it! Thanks so much for the experience of watching it run on an outstanding layout. :-)
The engine and set run and sound great, but BE AWARE, out of the box, the couplers are not "standand" size, they're more scale size, and very slippery, this set is an uncoupling 'nightmare' if your layout has misc. humps and bumps in the track! Great video!
Awesome video and layout! Love the 20th Century Limited! It defined the romance of the time and rails. I think that and the SP's Daylight were some of the most beautiful trains!
Hi and thanks for watching! I can't take credit for the layout handiwork. It's our club layout and was built back in the early 1970's, long before I became a member. What I do know is the bulk of the rock work is hand-carved plaster!
Jonathan, I would definitly recommend using Kadee short shank couplers and mount the points short then long. The train will still have a gap so you can turn around curves and still pull of the classic look of the train.
These are really nice cars. I'm thinking of picking them up myself. Do you think swapping the couplers out with Kadee short shank couplers would tighten that gap between cars any? Thanks for sharing.
Just watched this video for the first time. Very nice layout and train. I noticed what looks to be an OLD brass/AHM/C100 double slip at 1;12 secs. into the video. Is this the track item I described? If so, I haven't seen one in 30 yrs.
Ok, I ended up with the Broadway Limited Verison locomotive, look kinda small for an HO Scale now I wonder how many cars should I get??? 15, 17 maybe???
Yea, the cars are detail down to the "T"! and there are only 10 unique cars. If I do run them, I'll try to hide them somewhere in the consist maybe and they came with kadee couplers
And because of this video, now I will try to get this complete set before Nov 1, tell me sir, this is the 5 car set plus the 2 car add on of MTH NYC correct?

Thanks for watching! Yes I had a small camcorder being pulled on a flatbed looking backwards in front of the train for those sequences.
I believe the couplers have two mounting points so you can get the cars closer together with the stock couplers

Hi yes, this is the 5 car set plus 2 add-ons plus a single for the 10-car total
The train is neat and all, but the layout is gorgeous!

Not to mention the numerous Atlas Code 100 Snap Switches. Whatever works. . .
Amazing, and the smoke is very effective.
This video is amazing and this layout is fantastic.....well done!!

I think they only make 10 unique cars. Any more than that and you'll have duplicates in your consist, if you care about stuff like that.
Love the whistle
I have one and it is so awesome. The best way to get it is to bid for it on Ebay.
awesome! i love that steam loco!
