since you sometimes leave the door open when getting a quick shot the fact sadie won't go out that door seems like a good thing, I wouldn't teach her to do it. A significant number of lost dogs traveling sneak out the driver's door at gas stations and dump stations!

It's always busy. That can be part of the fun as you follow the same group of people around the main features. Old Faithful is worth it once it's safe. The international crowd applauds the eruption.

@@sgcase. Yes it is worth the wait. I even got sunburned in the tops of my ears and scalp. As there was very little shade to stand in.

I am from South Carolina near the border of NC. Our lakes are always muddy. I have been to Yellowstone and Grand Teteons. I loved how clear the rivers and lakes were. They are nothing like those in SC. I remember that I could see the bottom of Yellowstone Lake even when we were several feet deep. I hate that your views were clouded by smoke. It is such a beautiful place on this wonderful place called America. The views were outstanding when I was there in the late 70's.

I really enjoyed this video, Carolyn! And the Bison was so cool to see! What a majestic animal. And shame on people for pooping so close to the water and not burying their poop! That drives me crazy too whenever I see that and clumps of toilet paper everywhere when I am out camping. It s disgusting and nothing ruins a campsite more than finding that mess.

My mom and I took a trip during the summer to Yellowstone and we passed the Tetons, it was amazing. I booked a Yellowstone tour and the lady that took us around, sorry I can't remember her name , but she was so informative about the entire area. She mentioned the only safe time to kayak on the lake was in the morning, but once afternoon hit and if you fell out of the kayak, unless you could manage to get back into your kayak you were dead within minutes of hypothermia. During our tour, bison were all over, we also saw bear cubs sleeping under a tree and Elk. It was a wonderful experience. I wish everyone can experience Yellowstone at least once in their life.

Thank you Carolyn for passing on the message regarding interaction with wildlife in National Parks. When I worked in the Tetons it was a constant problem, people were always hurt (or worse) but of course it’s the creatures that are ultimately affected negatively. Parts of the lake are warm. So please don't think it is all cold. The lake is very cold and deep in some parts. But we would tube, swim, boat, fish, lay in sun in parts closer to Cody. The north fork and south fork run off of I do believe. Simply stunning in the spring and summer. Fly fishing, panting, or just a beautiful picnic. Raised my boys there.
But by Yellowstone the water is thermal. So you can not predict the temps at some places. People have literally died, serious burns, it is no joke.

While it is said that there are remarkable hot springs that are suppose to be ok. You can walk a little board tail over some of these hot springs that kinda meet in the middle. There are orange and yellow, with clear beautiful water. There is a amazing blue. But do not touch these. You can feel the heat off of them but I know many people die or burn seriously thinking it couldn't be that hot. You should look it up on way back it is such a beauty. Hope you had fun. Sorry but being negative. Just lived there and know the dangers

They need to leave at least 20% of them first come first served. So cool to have a Bison so close to you! That happened to us when we were there also:) I wonder if Sadie can smell the Bison, the bears, elk, and possibly wolves and that is why she is hesitant? I loved the little island in the lake.
