If you’ve never been profiled before I guess you wouldn’t understand. Showing her your phone would do what exactly? How do you prove it ? It’s already in a different case so she could easily say you changed my background and Lock Screen! You changed my password and put all your contacts in my phone!! How is 20 seconds of proving that the bag/pants/phone be that much of a trouble?
      I mean, if I'm the manager.
      Guys not wanting to show their bags by a third party on an alleged crime to easily de-escalate is fishy.
      Chase the one who runs from the crime scene as they say.
      And the girl is just panicking/not thinking straight when she realized the phone is lost and immediately blames the nearest person (that just happen to be black men?)
      She's only violent/confrontational because the two doesn't want to show the bag/phone.
      Again, like he said. 20 seconds of de-escalation via a third party (manager) vs not de-escalating is fishy.
      Not saying they aren't racist. But as they say to all alleged crimes regardless of race. innocent until proven guilty (ever heard of to kill a mockingbird? We don't cancel someone's life without proper/fair trial)
      All parties acted to each of their accord.
      Both are victims of panic. The manager is right to be suspicious why the 2 doesn't want to de-escalate by merely showing the phone and show pictures/data etc.

      @nazekpurplesyou9739 3 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      @@NicitoStaAna the manager also blamed them and didn't asked clamely for them to show that kind of proof without making them look bad from the start. Woman is panicked and blaming for no reason (maybe not just because they are black but because they are the first people she saw with the same iPhone near her at the moment she thought she lost it), father and son are annoyed with the disrespectful approach of the woman grabbing them and yelling at them that they are thieves. Of course the woman didn't act in a respectful way that could have solved the problem without all that conflict, and the family wouldn't like to stay near her for more time, but the manager should be the third person to calm the two parties down, to calm their business' costumers down. A good manager should have done that, he didn't think of this at the moment probably and the outcome of the situation was the two parties not cooperating to solve the misunderstanding politely due to negative feelings at the moment.

      Dude, you're really bad at recalling back events.
      What happened was that the girl accused his son of stealing her phone because it's the same iPhone and coincidentally have the same cover. She rudely asks him to show it to her and is reasonable if someone is 100% that, that's their phone but it's unreasonable to automatically think it's their phone just because it's the same type of phone that has the same cover. So, it's a reasonable response by an unreasonable conclusion. The son and the dad refused. The manager trying to resolve this issue asks the dad to just show it to her because that'd literally resolve the issue and not escalate it. The dad and the son tries to leave. The girl still thinking that's her phone and trying to make the run for it since the issue hasn't been solve grabs the kid and tries to grab the phone.
      So, the conclusion is the girl is stupid and unreasonable, the dad and the son doesn't know how to de-escalate a situation and the manager is the only one here being reasonable for trying to de-escalate a situation that can be de-escalated in a few seconds.
      What's up with people thinking you're either with A or you're with B when you can be not chosing any side and just trying to resolve an issue. Humans are always flawed at thinking and always likes duality. As if you always need to root for and boo someone in every situation. Try not to pick sides when there's an issue (unless you're a lawyer, I guess). It can help you get a better understanding and not be biased.

Yet she zooms in on them. Normal response is can you phone uber to see if I've left my phone? Everyone has done that. But no she's filmed puuling on the boys leg then falling backwards when the dad pulls him away. Then outside security she jumps on the 14 year old back. Pinning him to the ground. She wasn't scared. It's pretty much pointless to try to steal an iphone or try to use one that you didn't buy yourself.. I found an iphone recently and just waited til people called it and told them give me a finders fee.. Easy $20 bucks.

      @@martinmetal7481 You know, you're right in saying people get judged for being white, just like people are judged for being black. The difference is, being judged for being white doesn't get you denied a job, harassed, arrested, or killed.
