Awesome. Chris you always take the best data available at the time and make well qualified professional predictions. Thanks and looking forward to a great season in Colorado
In weather, anything more than 2 weeks out is a complete guess. I enjoy watching the bets going on the table and seeing who was closer to what actually happens though. That's harmless, just don't go making plans around predictions when we're an entire season away.
Beaver Creek, Copper, Breck, Keystone, A-Basin, Loveland, and Vail are all so close - I find it hard to believe we can estimate normal or above normal for those specific resorts. Would snow totals be held back by Vail Pass or Loveland Pass? Honest, I'd be happy with a "normal" season again - last season was weird.
You can see the complete long-range forecast here (www.onthesnow.com/news/winter-long-range-weather-forecast/), which shows a map of which regions are favored. Chris will be back in November with twice-weekly forecasts.
I’m up in Spokane. 49° North Pass + Ikon. No Silver or Lookout Pass this year. Gonna be doing some Schweitzer, but I’m gonna focus on Red Mountain. It’s only 2.5 hours from me. Ready for a better winter. Gear is set. Added a new board already. Ready to wax for first day!!!
California has had 2 cool wet winters in a row, if i was betting, im pretty sure this winter is most likely going to be warmer and drier. But hey, who knows, maybe we can go 3/3 on cool wet winters
Terrible news here in northern NM . El Niño never showed up here last year and now this . I’m wondering if the historical models are having trouble with the rapidly warming ocean and the climate in general ? I’m holding out Hope La Niña falls apart
There was a fella in Alaska who would report the opposite weather as the media everyday. At the end of the year he was more accurate than the rest. Go figure.
I'm near Tahoe. Last year was DISMAL. I am not optimistic about this year. EVERY forecast last Fall was WRONG... kept promising snow that never came. So I'm not really believing anything.
Super pumped to look forward to more of your forecasts Chris! Thank you!
You continue to rule Chris. Thanks for posting.
Awesome report! Just subscribed!
Wonderful! Chris will be back in mid-November with twice-weekly forecasts.
Thank you! Looking forward to the season.

Can you post the accuracy of your past long term predictions?

Hello, I think you folks should include Kicking Horse.
Cheers,
Thanks! We include more ski resorts on our website, which typically includes some Interior BC resorts. www.onthesnow.com/news/snow-before-you-go/
nice to hear it
Bring on the snow, and do not empty the reservoirs to avoid flooding until it is absolutely necessary.
Would love to hear a Midwest forecast if you are able to drill down a bit
1998, 2011, 2012 and 2021 where some epic years in the BC. were are due for a big one. either way its always good up here.
Great information.
This was awesome, I hope you keep doing it. I’m planning a trip in January to Seattle and now I’m extra stoked. Any outlook for SoCal mountains yet?

March was real good in Tahoe last year. The first 2 1/2 months were absolutely sad though.
Blah blah blah
you are too technical. Talk in Joe Blow language Please.
