You mean during the first time Jokic won it? Yeah, it was bad that he was called the worst MVP ever but hindsight is 2020. It's easy to say that now when he won a ring. Besides during that year the top candidates like Lebron and Embiid got injured. Jokic was around 3rd or 4th before Lebron and Embiid got injured.

All the competition was in the West:
      Lakers
      Dallas

There's a reason why from 1999 to 2011, that's 12 championships and 10 of them went to the West and only 2 to the East.
If you count 1999 to 2019 that's 21 rings and 14 of them went to the West and only 7 to the East but Lebron had a squad for those 3 rings so he didn't just carry some guys.

Yeah he's great, I mean he's literally costing the Lakers games because he refuses to feed AD in the post who is clearly their best player so Lebron can average a high PPG, never mind whenever he makes himself the #1 scoring option by jacking up three's they get pummeled. I mean yeah if I ignore all the facts and just look at surface level stats he's great. What NBA player couldn't average high offensive stats when they are the only scoring option lol. You're all the same folks that thought Westbrook was amazing when he was averaging a triple double on the Wizards. Not hard to do when you're the only decent player on a trash team. Should've put that energy into playing better during the Conference Finals: you could've won a game or two. Now, there's this big hoopla around the Nuggets "being" the Lakers' enemy. LA got swept; being salty over it doesn't change anything, Nick. Furthermore, no team worth its salt is sitting around fretting whether they're "underdogs" or being "hunted"; their primary concern is to win and put themselves in the best position to do so. You entertainers put more emphasis on narratives than tangible outcomes, which is what's actually important.
