Hi Eddie. Really good hike in that area is leave your car in Blair Atholl. Walk up Glen Tilt, then through the Lairig Ghru to Aviemore. Train back to Blair Atholl to get your car.Did it in my teens and think its a two or three day hike. Regards Paul.

Brilliant film Eddie, Glen Tilt is a stunning place! Been there a few times bagging, cycling etc. Right if your interested for future reference, The two bothies you mention(I think) are "The Tarf Hotel" and "Sheicheachan" bothy. Both start at the car park you an Mark set off from. For "Sheicheachan" bothy check my Beinn Dearg (Blair Atholl) vid. It is about 6-7 miles from the car park on an easy path, And can be turned into a circuit that will take you back to Glen Tilt near the firing range. Tarf Hotel is a bit more harder to get to, The route i know off takes you near the Munro Carn a' Chlamain(I have a vid of that too) and you cut off from the path near-ish the summit. It is quite remote i think. Well worth a re visit Eddie, Its a beautiful glen. PS Tell Mark to watch out taking that water from that farmhouse, The guy is built like a brick shithoose!! LOL! Was on the Cheviots on Saturday pretty wild. Seems like when I go there or Wales it's wild weather. I quite like a wee bit of wild weather but I think I've earned some good conditions. Many thanks for your efforts. A nice reminder of my hike via Glen Tilt to Aviemore a while back. Unfortunately I picked a snowy few days with the burns up high. Anyhoo it was a good wander. Also I happened on your Head For The Hills video. Nicely done. Just a pity the comments are disabled. Keep on keeping on. 👍😁

There is not a man or woman who cannot say they have never been geographically embarrassed at least one in their life, it certainly does not help if some git removes the turn point post!.... its always a good reminder to us all not to be over confident and to keep checking our maps or gps, did like that walk though must admit, perhaps one for my better half and i on our March holiday 👍, regards Matt
Its a nice Glen the further in you get , theres accommodation in the Marble Lodge and Forest Lodge. ATB p.s. gate @ 24 mins is the way we wanted to go , not helpful locking a gate on the long circuit path
Another lovely area of Scotland to explore. Eddie, an OS map of the area your venturing around and a compass for orientation, saves a lot of confusion, time and unnecessary mileage, for two keen hikers I would of thought one of you would have that covered, good video mate, atvb.
The lovely flat campsite early in the video is one of the firing points for the rifle range, I think it is 1,000 yard one. I helped build it in 1977. The origins of target shooting were the Boer war when it was realised the army were pretty poor marksmen. By the time of the 1st world war, due to target shooting as a sport, it was quite different. The shooting of the British army was so fast and accurate, they thought that instead of bolt action rifles, there was an individual issue machine gun.
Ok, so how many viewers realized that Eddie inserted the clip at 14:38 to show what kind of snoring he had to deal with? LOL. Great wild camp, you and Mark make a fine team.
Long way in Glen Tilt bud. Not been up there for years but remember the walk in.. the river bed in places has been lifted on its side from ancient times.. Amazing contours. Give you a call later or the morn bud. Good wee hike tho...
At 40:20 you should have just kept going the way you were going to go 😂that was the correct way taking you down the back end of glen fender and looping back to old Blair
Brilliant video, thanks for posting. Visited Glen Tilt for the first time a few weeks back, took in Munro Carn a'Chlamain, was tempted with a wild camp up there but no water. Some cracking spots past the hunting lodge. First time in the TN laser compact, bit tight for me. If you ever tire of the TN southern cross gimme a shout lol. Do you think the one man version would be ok ? Anyways thanks again for posting , keep doing what you're doing , enjoy watching your videos 👍
Thanks yeah i'll keep doing it until i can't. One man version be fine but i'd rather have the extra space for a wee bit of weight also means if someone has a tent fail theres an option of sharing rather than end of trip. ATB.
Nothing wrong with a power nap. One time I decided I'd do an overnighter on the woods, make a video and a bit of bushcraft. Set up had a power nap. Unfortunately it lasted until the next morning and I had effectively did nothing but sleep in the woods.
People pay many £££'s to wake up with a viewpoint and you got it for free! Maybe someone did remove a marker to cause confusion.it's a ridiculous thing to do,but you were both calm and found your way back.your voice changed ever so slightly when you recognised the path though!!! What do you think of the Southern cross 2 ,I'm looking for something bit lighter for me and my dog (Labradour big big silly thing) looking at Hilleberg Unna (not sure big enough)or Nammatj 2 (3kg bit heavy) or the southern cross 2 which seem ideal except can't find any reviews in heavy wind in & winter conditions. Says its 4 seasons, I've seen you have been using it a while now would you recommend it. Thanks
I've never used it in winter but it would take a light snowfall I'd say. Had it in strong wind it survived but it collapses in abit. It's a good 3 season tent but I don't use it in winter or summit camps. It a good size for its weight If your not going out in gales it should be fine but it will collapse in abit if the wind hits the sides.

Ever thout about the Dava way. 28 miles Forres to Granton on Spay. Old rail way track .

No gimbal use the Sony x3000 it's got great optical stabilisation. Not as good as a gimbal but very good nevertheless.
