      Glad you enjoyed it! I was really blessed to get this peach tree from my buddy, most trees this big can be super expensive, or take several years to grow

    Just found your channel! I’m moving to Austin in the fall. I’ve never lived in a place where winters are not below freezing, so I’m use to only being able to garden from May-August. I’m excited for the extended gardening season.

      Howdy, thanks for watching, and welcome to Austin this fall, were happy to have you! The funny thing about Austin winters are their unpredictability, theres been several winters with maybe one week that had lows in the upper 20s, and otherwise had no freezes, and then there are years like last winter, or winter two years ago, where we've had our fair share of ice and snow

      @@AustinTexasGardening hey, what's up with the buckets? Why not just on-the-ground gardening? Just curious because I just got a place to work on, and want to do some of the same!! Up in RR. Awesome to see bro, and thanks for the vids!!! I'm an engineer so super analytical hahah. Good to see 👍👍👌

      @@AustinTexasGardening ok, saw another vid, where you've moved to Manor, haha. Got it - garden bed looks bomb and I will do the same!! Still curious on the buckets, but I think it's a 'portable' option? And probably cheaper than official pots or something more formal like that. I'll have to see if I can get some vids going - keep it up man!

    I live in Central Texas and I fertilize my banana trees every two weeks and give them plenty of water. They are doing well.

    That celery is so cool! I’ve actually used celery seeds in homemade ranch before and it’s tasty! I love your container garden too, I’m going to try and start up a few containers and see what I can grow! I’m thinking about getting a citrus tree that I can bring in for the winter if it gets too cold?

    • @AustinTexasGardening
      @AustinTexasGardening  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Smart! I've wanted to try to root some peach tree cuttings in containers, but the smartest thing to do would be just to put a nice, properly grafted, lemon, lime, or other citrus tree in a nice container. I think the most aesthetic container grown fruit tree would be an olive tree or lime tree in one of the white glazed ceramic containers that I have the avocados in, however, keep in mind, when those pots are full of soil and even slightly damp on the surface, they weigh easily 80-100 lbs
      Theyres always the option of a dwarf fruit tree in a 20-30L container

      the tips ive gotten are the following
      1) you cant overwater, water like crazy
      2) sun, but not too much

      @@AustinTexasGardening it gets all day sun no burn damage 😟🤣. So I guess the daily rain helps it .

    7:13 .. do you know why your peach tree has yellow leaves? Maybe it need fertilizer? Or maybe it’s the watering? Peach leaves are supposed to be a dark green color … what happened?

    • @AustinTexasGardening
      @AustinTexasGardening  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Overwatering I believe actually, my inground bed is kind of a swamp due to bad drainage, I dont want to transplant it again, but im considering it

    the brown spots on the habeneros could be a fungus and should not be dropped into your soil, bag em and put in trash

    My neighbor has a banana tree in the corner of his yard and adjacent to my yard. The leaves will get huge and brownout and end in my yard, PITA to clean up. Love my neighbor tho, god people so no need to start anything.

    I hope to keep up with you, I live here in Taylor, TX not far from you. Here are my suggestions, 1) Please man don't eat fruit or anything else from your yard without washing it. Think about how rain or wind could seriously mislead you into believing that you are not ingesting bird/squirrel/whatever feces that contains some life changing microscopic bacteria, virus or parasite....yes if you happen to ingest the wrong kind it could permanently change your life - is it really worth it? Please friend, that suggestion comes from my heart and if I have not convinced you please try to get your doctor to convince you. 2) To improve the long-term health of your peach trees you might consider taking those central leaders out and going with and open center configuration to improve air flow and more evenly distribute sunlight. 3) I use a mixture of Bliss organic neem oil and Organic Safer insect soap from Amazon on the 20 fruit trees that I have in my little 1/4 acre lot here in Taylor and all I can tell you is you won't regret it. I went to a backpack sprayer but a cheap bug sprayer from WM would be a good starting point. Anyway, good gardening to you and hope to bump into you around town sometimes. Later...

      This is awesome advice Ben, I appreciate you sharing! I just bought a 1/5 acre lot and im excited to start planting on it, ill definately check out the neem oil as an insecticide
