When your boots are wet, pick up a newspaper before you get to your hotel. Crumble up the pages of newspaper and stuff them into your boots, stuff the toes with as much paper as you can. Wait about an hour and pull the wet newspaper out and stuff your boots again with more newspaper. The paper will absorb the water and they should be dry by morning. I have been doing this for 40 years and it works great. Stuffing the wet boots with newspaper will also bring back the proper shape of the boots. Love the vlog Danny!

The driver sounded like the sort of Irish man who used to travel to England in the 80s to blow up shopping centers and pub's, there is some lovely Irish folk though. When you get to Belfast you can sing God save the Queen on the shankhill rd but if you're on the falls rd you better stick to Danny boy if you do karaoke. The Irish have been invaded by everyone so you can understand how some of them feel angry and the way the English treated them was bad but that's how things were back then, lucky for you your accent is that bad they will think your American so you should be safe in " bandit country ' south Armagh if you pass through, lots of history in that place , rule Britannia 😁

I hate to bring politics into this great vlog but feel compelled to reply. The Taxi driver was only speaking the truth - the history of British tyranny, massacre, genocide and partition in Ireland for over 800 years is not taught in English schools. I wonder why ???!! Maybe read and learn about it. And Ireland was not "invaded by everybody" - only the British and of course, just like Britain, by the Vikings.

    • @theonlyredspecial
      @theonlyredspecial 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

@@newboscoddog01 I live in Ireland not England. Of course the IRA and other terrorist groups never massacred anyone in the north? Many wrongs don’t make a right.
There is no point to this debate in a bike video vblog and it will go on forever. People arguing with other people they don’t know over who killed who, when and how many. I knew people who died but the survivors always have to get on with life.
It’s just a tarnish at this point over such a beautiful island which we are all here to look at. Let’s move on and enjoy the scenery even if it rains all the time!

We went Dublin Galway, Letterfrack, Ballyvaughan, Limerick, Cork, Crosshaven. I didnt make the route. The far Southern peninsula's would be great.
We had sunny weather though locals told us they just had acweek of horizontal rain.
Its a fine country improved so much since the IRA Ulster wars and the church has less of a negative grip on peoples daily life.
Around Waterford is similar to Wales.
    Dublin is a Viking town.
    And St Patrick was Welsh.
The Irish got a raw deal too often.
Irish are like Aussies in so many ways.
As we drove off the ferry from Holyhead in a Dublin street besides the Liffey, I noticed a migration advert in a buisness window which read, Work in Australia!....this was 2015.
The Iffey reminded me of a down market Amsterdam, as the terraced houses lining the canal like bank of the river were without embellishment. Statues of potato famine waifs mix with living pedestrians. Echoes of a hard past.

It took me 3 days around the coast from Kinsale to reach Limerick.
The guy on the ferry gave you a great tip, Achill island was one of the best places on the WAW and Keem beach, very similar to Donegal.

Both Northern Ireland and the Republic are wonderful places to visit. Just don’t ask for directions to LONDONderry from someone living in the Republic.

LOL @20:40 the guy marking all the little scratches as they do .... THEY have no idea that this is waste of time as there will be dozen of scratches added ! Obviously they never watches a vid of how MDB rolls. Looking forward to see the guys face when he sees the bike the next time in 4 days or whatever. Show goes on :)

Pity you didn't heed the chap who you rented the bike from and gone down to the Southern Peninsulas in West Cork and South Kerry. Cutting across from East to West meant letting yourself in for some boring riding when you could have had spectacular scenery and remote roads on the South West coast.
