I have some at my home and This is the 1st yr. I’ve seen one. Had to look it up to know what it was .I honestly don’t know if there is one or more but it is not shy.. I’ve been as close as 6 feet !!! I like him! He watches me in the garden
I just saw my first one perched on the fence near my feeders which is why I'm here...trying to attract it back! Another bird flew up quickly and looked like they flew off together. Maybe a female?
I played about a minute of this on my phone to be sure i was hearing the right bird, and a male and female showed up. Probably a coincidence because i doubt it was loud enough for them to hear it, but i'd like to think i called them in.
Just had a pair outside the bathroom window hanging around the branches and sill insect hunting. Until the male saw me watching. Exciting. I've never seen a tanager up close before. They took off before I could get a picture. The female looked more brownish tan than olive yellow. Markings were same. Male looked exactly like this one.
I think this is the bird I saw walking along a path near a creek, it was smaller than a cardinal,a beautiful shade of red, high up in a tree and flew around fast. Only it repeatedly made a chirpip sound.
