    Having only bootlaces to work with, we used these quite a bit in Viet Nam. Best way to use them is to snug the loops down, place the prisoner`s hands behind his head, then tie the free ends under his chin with a square knot. As long as he can`t get that loop over his head, he`ll never get loose.

    We're working on it. He uses my account so I can monitor his activity and he's very crafty with parachord so he's determined to make this knot. Thanks so much!

      You can create an alternate sock account, without identifying information, for the kids to use. You can monitor it the same, it's safer, and for example, fairyprincess123 is less trackable than a real name. There's sickos out there. Don't give them the upper hand. ;)

    The elbows sounds like a good idea, what are the pro's and or con's to that? and would both be best? tied elbow's and handcuffed wrists?

      I make mine with 4 feet, but I also tie a stopper knot 2 inches from each end, so they cant slip back through the prusik.

    nice knot, but if you have to tie up someone quickly a basic handcuff knot will do the trick. A basic handcuff knot can be tied in a couple of seconds.

    is there a easy to tie better knot than a Square knot? my family members and I can get out of these pretty fast

    • @azure6392
      @azure6392 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Tie a stopper knot in each end, close to the prussic knot. Overhand, or better yet, figure eight to keep the loops from being slipped open. Square knot can be easily undone by pulling one end in the opposite direction (it becomes 2 half hitches) and slide off. If another prisoner can do this, they can both get out quickly.

  • @Countlesslost
    @Countlesslost 11 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    WARNING, do not learn how to do this then handcuff yourself like I just did, except I did not do the square knot at the end, I was handcuffed for five or less minutes and I was glad to not be handcuffed anymore!

    • @fakecubed
      @fakecubed 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you want to test it out on yourself, just do one hand, and attach the other side to a chair leg or something. That way you have a hand free to get yourself out.

    This actually more useful is both end goes through the same hole. it becomes a quick ziptie to hold for example a bunch of wood. can also be used as a tourniquet. This is useless handcuff for anyone who understand how a prusik work.
