Lovely video I have four of them. Also three Hayter Harrier 2 mowers same width with grass box and a heavy metal roll to stripe the lawn. I just love Hayters . Looking at it when you are pushing it you have the metal flap missing . Just you could get your feet under it. Thanks again so nice to watch
Hi Mick, When I Bought this mower for less than £10 it didnt run. was partially seized and was covered in thick black oil, Grass, and the blades were not cutting lets say lol. I really Enjoy using the hayterette 5hp. It glides through the grass and hardly grumbles. The 3.5hp Hayterette on the other hand needs revving (within limits) Thanks for Your comment :-) :-) :-)
I have no intention if it blowing up. I dislike Hover Mowers. I have all the parts to rebuild that engine if need be. it has cut 42 years worth of grass
Got one of these, it's been in our family since being new in 1973. Looks the same as this one. Just had a bit of a 'mare bringing it back to life after a 10 year rest as it had no spark or fuel. I've now removed the old coil and disconnected the points to replace both with a modern coil that includes the electronics time the spark. The fuel pump lift filter was totally blocked with crude though so have removed that now too, temporarily hopefully. It’s now running well. I'm having trouble finding parts though as my engine model number is rusted and unreadable, any chance of a pic of yours?
Going by the size of the engine... this was marketed for heavy duty commercial use. And, if I know right, the engine was built on November 1, 1979 (code 79110106).
Yes, This Model Was Called the "Hayterette Professional" so had an Industrial/Comercial 5HP Briggs & Stratton Engine. The Engine On My Hayterette was Built on 15th March 1979 (790315) is the Date code.
@@ClassicTVMan1981X Yes it should have. The original carburetor was not in good condition. I bought a tank and carb from a Standard 5HP Briggs and I have used that ever since. The Screw that holds the duel element down will not fit the carburetor i have fitted currently. I am however always on the lookout on eBay for the correct carburetor so I can refit the duel element air filter.
Im still loving this video. I hope all is ok with you. Keep making them mowing vids.
Thank you, I will

Need the red caps for the wheelbearings . Is there anyone who can reprint them with a 3D printer?
@@Chappomusic I would like some too if anyone can make them

Thank you for the heads-up!
@@LawnMowersThingsThatMakeNoise The engine also had a dual element cylindrical air cleaner originally.
